high pitch noise Boxster S 2003

70,000 miles. Only and always after driving about 15 minutes: high pitch noise, constant. Changing transmission oil did not change it. Diagnosis?

You should post this in the 986 forum, it may get more attention there. 

 

High pitch noises are sometimes too general to offer a diagnosis without more detail but on a Boxster they usually originate from the pulleys on the front of the engine which rests just behind the seats.

 

This noise can also be an indicator that the water pump is failing. It's a good time to get this diagnosed as to not leave you stranded if the water pump does fail. When was the water pump last changed?
