Windshield question

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I need to get an esaypass for my 2000 Boxster. Is there any metal in the windshield of the Boxster that should make me get the easypass that bolts to the license plate? When I drove it home from the purchase, it(my other car's easypass) didn't work on the PA Turnpike holding it in the window.

Thanks,

Jon

We've got Fastrak here in California (similar to the EZPass) and I haven't had any issues using it. I place mine in lower corner of the windshield on the driver's side.

My EZ-Pass works fine in the recommended upper window position. It looks ugly from the outside, but I can't see it from the driver's position as it is 100% hidden behind the rear view mirror.

In NY I went with the inside unit mainly because they wouldn't mail the license plate version unless your vehicle was on the list of 'problem' cars for the inside version.

The usual problem with hand holding is holding the unit wrong side out or upside down (the words should face inside and be upright). I have handheld succesfully several times using a rental car.
