Denso iridium

I need to change spark plugs on my boxster 2.7 model 2003.Any ideas about denso iridium power IK20??Anyone ever tryed them on a 2.7 engine??Or its beter with the standar beru/bosch??or any way which is the best solution?Bosch US gives for 2004 2.7 engine the code FGR6KQE...and for 2003 the code FGR6KQC?Why is that change exept the diference in material?Any ideas or coment?

Go with bosch platinum 4 because their good for 100,000 miles, I dont know much about the iridium but I know they're expensive...$13 a pop...Bosch plat's 4 is $6 a pop....iridium is stronger than platinum due to it's atomic properties but who cares... :beer:

The 986 Bosch plug used by Porsche for 2000 up 2.7/3.2 is FRG 6 KQC. The "C" at the end means it is copper. According to the Bosch site the plug that ends in "E" means it is nickel-yttrium. I have never seen this plug. Porsche uses the copper plug for the 986.

But I see the plug used for the 987 is FRG 5 KQEO. So it looks like a nickel-yttrium plug is being used in the new cars.

Im curious. Buy the nickle-yttrium plug if you can find it so we can see what it looks like.

Iridium is both harder and a better conducter of electricity than platinum. Theoretically you should get a hotter spark and fractionally more hp. From what I've read, plug makers and car manufacturers use platinum plugs principally for longer replacement intervals, not because they are superior in any other way.
