  1. The golden rule with Zymol is that less is more. When doing an area you don't want to cover the entire area with it. I found the most effective way after using Zymol Concours for 5 years is to make a grid pattern with your fingers and wipe down with very little pressure until it glosses over. As far as acid rain...wouldn't acid rain be bad for the paint with or without zymol? chemically zymol has no active ingredients to react with any external elements. I think the rumor from japan comes from the fact that Zymol is not compatible with japanese paint that's why they make a Zymol Japon espically for Japanese cars.
  2. The way I understand it after living in Boston which is pothole city, you can claim against the city for excessive damage done to your car as a result of neglegant road maintanace. Paying road tax entiitles you to it. I don't know how it works in SF but worth checking out. My friend in boston lost is front axel after a manhole cover went missing, the city paid for the damage.
  3. Does it sound like this? http://iboston.com/myengineclick.mp3
  4. I guess they figure you can never clean the inside of the radiator now that it has been contaminated with oil.
  5. i've done the hack, it's always on unless i switch it off...My NAV system works just fine. There is one side effect...If you have it setup this way usually your doors automatically lock when you drive over 5 mph but this becomes disabled if you remove the spedo jumper.
  6. That is BS look at the plate. It says 2003....it's a photoshop job.
  7. I have an 03 C2 with Bose and I have the Base at +9 but the key is to set the fader to -6 or -7 this way the front speakers don't drown out the sound from the back. So when you make it loud the bass is much more noticable and balanced with the speakers in the front.
  8. I'm pretty sure you can because you can order SportTechno rims on a C2 and they are 295 on the rear. On 2002+ C2's at least.
  9. The Year is 2003. I got the car back and the service rep told me there was a blockage in the oil system. He wasn't more specific but the car runs fine now and there is a lot more power. But what really annoys me is they fixed the car by driving it around until it just unblocked?!!! Well doesn't really make sense to me but it the car is fine now.
  10. As I was driving I heard two knocks from the back. It sounded like I ran over a plastic bottle and it got thrown around in the wheel arch. But when I got out of the car while it was on I heard this metalic tapping sound...It's never made this noise before and the car still drives fine. Temperature is normal and oil pressure is normal. I recorded a sound clip, the sound I'm talking about is very clear. Engine Sound
  11. I don't know where in the UK you are but the former HR Owen Service Center has excellent service. They even offer a 'while you wait service' for minor problems and will drop you off and pick you up from your home or nearest tube station. I also have never had a problem booking the car in and they are quite pleasant. Porsche Service Center (HR Owen) Unit 10, 1000 North Circular Road, Staples Cornet, London NW2 7JP TEL: 020 8282 0640 Are you calling AFN? Because I heard they are not the best when it comes to after sales service and that's being modest. I just checked my software version and it says V.2 and I still have those problems.... <_<
  12. I have had some problems with my 2003 C2 with PCM2, i'm also in the UK. Which dealer do you use? Sometimes the unit does not switch on until a couple of minutes after starting the car. Also the unit will switch on but no sound will come from the CD/RADIO or navigation. Usually switching the car off, locking it then unlocking and starting it again fixes the problem. I've had my car for 7 Month now and it's happened 4 times. Because the problem rectifies itself quickly it does not bother me enough to go book the car in to have it fixed. However I will definelty mention it on my next service in 5 month. This is what I have learned with dealing with car dealerships in the UK (Porsche/BMW) they really hate fixing small problems so I usually wait until there is a real problem (by their definition) and then mention the little things while the car is booked in. I know it's unacceptable for them to dismiss these minor technical faults but that's just the way it is. Complaining will just irritate them and then you really won't get any service.
