All 997's (so far) use the same MAF. Whether 3.6 or 3.8 they are all the same part number.

986.606.125.01 (yes a 986 number) and it is used on:

GT3-1 (996)

GT3-2 (997)

CGT

996 MY02 and newer (3.6 liter engines)

986 MY00 and newer with re-programming required of the DME (exception: special edition spyder)

Am I reading this right? This means a 2004 986S Special Edition Spyder takes a 986.606.125.01 MAF with NO re-programming of the DME.

Yes an no.

Yes, that MAF will work fine with not programming -- but no, the part number has no changed to: 987.606.125.00.

Part number do change without notice - so it is always good to ask.
