Boxster GT3 - GT3 RS bumper

Recommended Posts

I would like to have a GT3 RS bumper on my 986, but I found a almost new GT3 bumper for no money (300 euro), I'would like to know if someone did intalle the 3 upper Grils of RS bumper on a standart GT3? I know I would have to cut in the GT3 bumper.

How are those attached?

Anyone the part # and prices of these 3 grills?

thanks

Hi Loren,

As you see there are grills like on the pict 1 item nr 2, that is what I mean, how are those attached?

any price and partnumber?

BTW does a GT3 bumper fits the 986 boxster?

Is there a difference with the aerokit bumper?

And what about the GT3 cup bumper?

They are likely glued in place.

996.505.325.91 The grill is a Porsche MotorSports part number so it would be special order from a dealer - and likely more than you paid for your bumper...

You can try Sunset Imports - maybe they can get you a good price.

Loren, I know it fits because it's from the aerokit for the box, butI know someone who has a GT3 cup or RS MK1(the one on the top picture) and would like to ask him to swap bumpers. but I don't know thepartnumber of his. that's why i ask this question.

I am considering this GT3 front bumper for my 99 Boxster, any thoughts on this product? Anyone have experience with this manufacturer or product? Any thoughts/suggestions are appreciated.

I'm pretty sure a pre-face lift GT3 Cup car bumper will fit - but I think the GT3 RS bumper would require some additional mounting points.

The bumper in the link below is made of FRP - fiberglass-reinforced-plastic, in other words, fiberglass. the factory ones are plastic and very flexible. unless you are racing and plan to replace often, I've heard it is a good idea to stay away from FRP as it doesn't hold up as well.
