Deeper cigarette lighter

Recommended Posts

After a quick search on this board and Google I came up empty-handed on whether or not I can get a deeper cigarette lighter unit for a '99 Boxster. . .what say you guys? ipod and cell phone charger don't fit well into the original. Plus I busted it by banging a guitar amp into it, and now it doesn't work at all. I figure I might as well get a deeper one, while I'm replacing. I also figure that the Boxster is not a fantastic band-bus.

In other news, I quickly and easily replaced rear brakes, sensors, and rotors today, thanks to this board. I may try a coolant reservoir replacement. Got the reservoir, now all I need is the tools, a weekend, and some guts. . .but none of this would have been possible without this board, so thanks, everyone!

yep - easy to replace lighter w/ US spec one. Just did mine in my '99. Here's what you need:

996-652-101-10-A05 Socket

996-652-102-10 Lighted retaining ring

$8.05 for socket, $4.30 for ring (from Sunset imports)

Takes all of 5 min to replace.
