  1. I would like to ADD a reverse camera to my '08 Cayenne S. Can you tell me if all I need to do is get a camera and program the dash? Is it prewired to the rear hatch? Thank you.
  2. Hi there. I'm trying to figure it out too. Hope someone can offer info. I don't think it's prewired for a camera.
  3. Charlie, my stalk assembly just shipped so it should be here soon and I'll be preparing to do this hack. I was wondering if there was any wisdom you might share or things to watch out for. Any references to the guides you found most useful, comments on routing the wires, anything really that would help make the process go more smoothly would be most welcome. Congratulations on getting it done! Chris. I completed my install on a 2003 Boxster S last weekend and it went smoothly just following the instructions as posted. And it works as promised. The hardest part was getting someone to activate the cruise and obc. Thx everyone. Andy
  4. After changing the order type did he recode it and then do another control module search? I don't think you can enable it until it has been recoded and the module search has been repeated. Chris. The step he missed was doing the control module search. It now works. Thx.
  5. Thx ToolPants and everyone else. It worked. I had a local small P shop transfer all the vehicle info from the boxster cluster to the 996 cluster using his PST2 and now all is good. Local P dealer didn't want to touch it. Said it wouldn't work. Radio works again and I have the improved OBC display (my opinion) visible. Eureka!
  6. Thx. I 'll try that and see if it works. I'll let everyone know. Thx
  7. The speedo, tach and the rest seem to be working ok. So can I put the code into the cluster so the radio will work? If so, then how? And does anyone have a wiring diagram for the 996 cluster so I can remove the offending pin? Thx
  8. I've purchased a cluster from an '02 996 and installed it in my 03 Boxster S. I've disconnected the extra 2 gauges - voltmeter and oil, but am still getting an error message on the OBC screen - "indicator failure" - which also displays an oil spout diagram with the error message. I believe relates to the oil sensors. Can someone help with a wiring diagram for the 996 cluster so I can disconnect the pin going in that sends the error message. Also, now the radio won't play with the new cluster> I get a "Porsche Protect" message on the radio? Any suggestions? Other than that, it all pretty well works fine. Thx
  9. Hi Tool Pants. I took my '03 Boxster S to my local dealer today to turn on the OBC and cruise before I did the retrofit for both. The dealer was able to turn on the Cruise , but couldn't turn on the OBC. I watched as he accessed the dme control unit to ensure that the order type was correct as a 986320, which it was. After that step, he tried to go into the instrument cluster to turn on the OBC but couldn't access it to code for OBC. What did/didn't we do right? Is there a step he missed? Can u provide pics and instructions of the process/screens to follow so we don't screw up again? Thx..
  10. Loren, I want to get my dealer to do the switch from Fahrenhuit to Celsius on the AC/Heater control. Can you please provide instruction for the PST2 process. He didn't know how to do it. I have an 03 Boxster S. Thx
  11. Hi Richard, Can you please help me out. Iam trying to do the retrofit of the 4 stalk in my 03 Boxster S. Where do the wires run to for the obc and the cruise functions? I'm confused with allthe different info out here. I assume I still need the VW wires and BMW connector? Thx Andy
  12. I'm about to do the upgrade but I'm stuck on what to do with the 4 wires that go to the instrument cluster. Can someone please help. I have made the harness with the VW wires. What connector/pins do they run to? Thx
  13. Looking for the part number for a connector that plugs into the instrument cluster. It is 2 part and has 32 pins. Also need the p/n for the pins. Thanks
  14. Trying to do some trouble shooting on my digital odometer. Can anyone advise which pins lead to the odometer on my instrument cluster? I can't decipher the wiring diagram. Thanks.
