  1. Turns out it was down to user error. Thanks for all your help.
  2. Hi All, I've got an issue with an early 996 Carrera. The car was left unused for the last 6 days or so and from what I understand, the car goes into sleep mode after a few days to protect the battery. According to the manual, all I need to do is insert the key into the door barrel and unlock manually. Simple enough really. The problem is, I can't rotate the key in any direction once I've put it into the door barrel. The red light on the centre of the dashboard still flashes so I don't think the battery is flat. Any help appreciated.
  3. Hi, I've got a 1999 Carrera with CR-22 Serial: X5018277 Type: 4367
  4. Hi Richard, I've tried that but I still get no sound. It's going into the workshop in a few weeks.
  5. Hi All, I'm in need of some help before the car goes off to a car audio specialist. I've run a search on this forum and others but I've been unable to find the answer. I have a 1998 996 Carrera with the 10 speaker system and factory amplifier. I have installed a GT3 centre console delete and as such, I have had to relocate the climate control system to the upper dash. I've also had to remove the PCM1 system and replace the horseshoe surround to support a single DIN head unit. With the PCM1 removed, I'm left with four connectors. Two of which (wider blue and black connectors) are not needed as far as I know. The multicoloured connector and the black small connector fit into the adaptor I bought. I've seen others use the same adaptor. This then connects to the harness that came with the new head unit. Once the 4 RCAs are connected, I've then attached the blue remote wire to the remote signal wire from the head unit. The head unit powers up as normal but I get no sound. Can anybody help?
