  1. Also, I am using the Ravenol to flush the unit until the next regular oil change when I plan to put the Porsche factory in. If you use the Ravenol it has a nice built in hose system that works perfectly. Mine was not having bad symptoms, but better safe than sorry. Plus I thought I noticed something when really getting on it, but might have been my imagination. Either way a quick preventative maintenance and man it was dark.
  2. I have the icarscan tool and want to do this as well before I change it, just to see the value. Did you drive it to heat up the oil first or does that matter since it is likely a stored value from the prior trip within certain parameters? Any other tips in using the icarscan tool or should it be straight forward?
  3. I came up with 955-301-115-01 for the plugs but wasn't sure if it carried over to the 958 as it did not give an application.
  4. It seems that the drain and fill plugs should be replaced when changing the fluid, has anyone found the part number in doing this fluid change on the 958? I found an older 955 part number but presumed it is a different transfer case.
  5. I believe you would want to use a hand siphon pump (very cheap at auto store) so you can get it filled properly and probably one bottle would do, but I would like to hear from someone that did it to confirm.
  6. Thanks for the insight on the vent. I always check Pelican Parts when looking for an oem equivalent as they tend to indicate the brand that makes the Porsche brand. In this case they have the Porsche branded at much cheaper at $51.75. They also have two alternatives but neither seem to be the maker of the oem fluid, but at $15.75 and $33.25 a liter it might be worth checking out. http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/SuperCat/7086/POR_7086_BASMIS_pg4.htm#item16 That being said I have not used either but Pelican can likely talk through it with you. Maybe someone here has used either Shell or Fuchs.
  7. I can try, but what I found was the online recordings do not do it (or most exhaust) justice. It is throaty without being obnoxious. Lay into the pedal and it really opens up. I get comments on it, just again today. The quality of the materials and the fit and finish are excellent. It came shipped ready to bolt on and was packed in molded foam. It was ready to assemble after removing your old exhaust (measure twice and cut once with a good exhaust pipe tool). As a hint, if you do it yourself be sure to use oil when cutting the old exhaust, makes it cut 10xs easier and without crushing the pipe. I cut mine with a chain cutter without removing the entire assembly first, essentially right on the vehicle after setting my air suspension to the highest setting.
  8. It is an outside air temperature sensor I believe, and should clip just behind the grill.
  9. Porsche does not make one, but there should be an aftermarket that size. That being said the flap should automatically lock when you arm the alarm. There is no way to manually do it, but once alarmed you cannot open the flap without breaking it.
  10. I am used to seeing "Made in Germany" as well as other pertinent size info stamped on the backside of Porsche wheel spokes. I have noticed a couple sets of Turbo II (may be others but that is what I am looking at) that have the info marked on the inner wheel with all the relevant info and say "Made in USA Alcoa". I know there are knockoffs on the market but they usually say nothing (do not say made in Germany or USA) from what I see and are made in China. The couple I see that say "made in USA Alcoa" reportedly came off 2014 model Cayennes and are original from the factory which is confusing. I will get a picture to upload. Can anyone confirm they make some wheels in the USA now, or have a Cayenne they bought new with this indication?
  11. I went with Remus and it makes the Cayenne S v8 sound the way I think it should, a refined deep note.
