  4. Hello, I'm looking for advice on the oil pressure regulator on a 1999 996. I spotted an oil leak coming from what i thought was a drain plug under the car, but on closer examination it appears to be the oil pressure regulator. See the pictures above, which were taken from the rear of the car looking forward. The metal washer around the plug has desintegrated and was cracked causing the leak, so i unscrewed the plug a little and removed the washer. I've tightened up the plug again but I can swear at idle the oil pressure seems to be higher than before, going up to 5 bar at about 2,500rpm. I haven't driven the car since. Questions :- 1. Is it the oil pressure regulator ??? 2. Is it critical that I have the correct thickness of washer fitted ??? 3. Should I drive the car, or wait until I fit the correct washer ??? thanks in advance for any advice. cheers, the prof

  6. Is the Boxster Aerokit front bumper the same as the Gt3 front bumper ??? As i can get a boxster aerokit bumper for about half the price of a gt3 one !!!! What about the 996 aerokit bumper, is it different again??? I'm fitting it to a 1999 996. thanks, the prof
  7. Its a piece of cake, do it yourself. i done it loads of times with no probs. You probably don't need any other parts other than the pads, unless the ones on your car are totally shot and you've worn down the brake sensors. Word of caution when removing the brake sensor from you old pads, be very careful not to snap off the small plastic clips that hold it in place, or you will need to replace them enjoy, SP
  8. Is the Mk1 GT3 rear bumper the same as the C2 pre facelift rear bumper ? cheers, SP

  11. Thanks for the advice guys. It looks like the turbo wheels should be ok, I'm negotiating a price with the seller now, so if I get a good deal I might as well buy them. If the rear turbo alloys have an offset of 45mm, will I need spacers to make them sit correctly ?? If they don't fit then I'm sure a turbo owner would like them as a spare set for the track. cheers SP

  15. Hi, anybody got a spare Becker cd changer to head unit cable they'd like to sell ??? I've bought a used changer with no cable and my car does not have the cable pre-installed at the factory. I know that some cars had this cable installed from new even though no changer was optioned, so if somebody has subsequently upgraded by fitting a changer they may have a spare cable that came with the changer lying around. Cheers, Stephen

  21. I'm in the UK and have managed to pick up a pair of very cheap LHD clear headlights. I was wondering if there is a way to remove the plastic clear covers/lens from the LHD lights and switch them with the clear/amber ones on my RHD lights ??? Basically, can the covers be removed and re-installed without breaking them ??? It may be a long shot, but any help would be much appreciated, SP
  22. Can Litronic Headlights be changed from left to right hand drive by the flick of a switch ??? I'm sure I heard this somewhere. I've the chance of picking up a pair of so called LHD Litronic headlights for cheap and was hoping to be able to switch them to RHD and fit them to my car here in the UK. Also, I'm only getting the actual headlight units themselves, no wiring loom or control unit thingy, are these the expensive bits to buy, or can I pick them up cheaply ?? Any help/comments/advice would be much appreciated. SP
