  1. Hello everyone,

Does anyone have or know where I may have the bolt torque specs for a 2008 Cayenne Turbo? I need pretty much the specifications for all the bolts and nuts that would be included in a block replacement. I'm getting the back rebuilt by 928 Motorsports and reinstalling with an experienced friend. However, it's nearly impossible to find the specs for these motors. Additionally, if there's a place where I could find a complete 957 workshop manual, could someone please advise? Thank you.

  2. Just wanted to say thanks to the community helped answer some questions about the scoring on my 2008 CTT 957. My next question is, does anyone know where I may purchase a complete engine seals and gasket kit for a 2008 Cayenne Turbo? Or if these are unavailable as a whole unit, had anyone rebuilt their engine from the cylinder scoring or something similar and have a parts list of required seals and gaskets which need changed? Additionally, are there any other suggestions on parts that I should change some I'll have the motor apart? Anything would help at this point. Thanks

  3. Hello everyone,
I can provide more information if needed, but I'm submitting myself to the advice and information of the Porsche community. I have a 957 CTT with cylinder scoring in cylinders 5 and 8. I would like to try and hone the cylinders and replace the rings with larger ones. I have a few questions:

    1. What are the stock cylinder sleeves/liners made out of? I understand they are coated with Alusil.
    2. What are the steps of the ring gap on all three rings?
    3. A place to purchase rings, cylinder sleeves and pistons to insert them myself.

I'm not a mechanic, but I have family and friends who are and would be assisting. I'm aware of LN Engineering's Nickie's, 928 Motorsports solution and basically rebuild options with larger cylinders and pistons. Please help and thank you.

  4. Well to get to the rear main seal they have to split the engine and transmission and remove the flywheel thus exposing the crankshaft main oil seal.
The torque convertor seal is right there so it's a no brainer one would have thought and only a 40 dollar part.
Maybe they did it without you knowing but I would ask so you know. If in the future you get red transmission fluid leaking out the bell housing holes that's the torque convertor seal leaking and the whole process needs to be repeated.
I had it done on mine before selling it. What a pita.
Ok. I'd assume they didn't since it was warranty work, but I'll ask. The coolant pipes were changed before I bought it so I'm kinda hoping they did that then. I'm the third owner of this CTT. Honestly, I've had more issues with mechanics than anything. I feel like no one knows what they're doing with this car. Sometimes I just don't have the time do to the work so it's easier to bring to them. I just dropped 3k in a week and most of the work I could have done. Oh well, it's just money. Live and learn.

  5. Yeah, that seems to be what it is boiling down to. I will try and replace my rear end control module this summer and then re-do the 2 mosfets and 6 resistors and see what happens. I'll report back.

I can help you find the part numbers, why do you believe that you need new exterior antennas?
Question for you... Do you remember the part number for the rear control module? I need to change mine too... Any info would help. Was the process to changing it difficult?

Well I replaced the 2 Mosfets and the 6 resistors. I plugged the KESSY unit back in and it said "Ignition Faulty" then it started right up with the Porsche Entry & Drive dummy Key. I drove the car a bit and then tested the locking button on the drivers side and it worked again! The unlocking by touching the handle is also working on the front driver side door and the front passenger side door. My tailgate also works fine again.

The only thing I have a question for is that neither of my rear doors open while touching the handle, I am guessing this is not normal? Can anyone confirm?

I'm looking into the issues here for a different reason, but I think the problem you're experiencing is a failure of the rear control module. Do your Comfort settings reset instead of retaining them? This might be your issue. As far as my issue, I'm trying to find part numbers for the exterior antennas for the key fob alarm. It has something to do with the kessy system, but I'm not entirely sure how. I know the interior antennas are related to the keyless start, etc..

  7. So I recently had the RMS replaced on my 04 CTT at a local indie. I ended up having to pay nearly a thousand extra for additional work that I do not believe should have been completed. The mechanic said I needed a new drive belt, coolant hose, breather hose, valve cover gaskets and spark plug cover gaskets. After cost of parts and labor it was $950 or so. My question (which I think I know already) is why would he be messing around with those items if he was changing the RMS? To do so doesn't require any to end work, right? If I'm wrong please let me know and if anyone has a guide on how to change the RMS on a turbo Cayenne is love to read it over. Thanks.

  8. I'm sorry for the rather broad post but I'm trying to find the name and part number of the following items...

    I have a 2004 Cayenne Turbo

    1. The plastic guards underneath the vehicle (the parts that need removed to change the oil)

    2. The bolt size that holds the plastic piece up underneath the vehicle

    3. The plastic covers over the seat rails behind driver and passenger seats. (These are the same two plastic pieces which are removed to unsnap the battery cover when pulling back on the carpet under the driver seat).

    4. Also what the part number is for the metal clips that are used throughout most of the interior trim holding it in place.

  9. Hello,
Does anyone know how to find the radio security code other than removing the actual multimedia console? I found this website here but not sure if it really works. My concern is when I change the battery (which is dying) how to gain access to the multimedia center again should it require a security code. I am the third owner and have found nothing written in any of the vehicle documents. Any advice would be appreciated.

  10. I was wondering... What does the flush call for? I don't have a workshop manual for my 04 CTT and to would be useful information as I'd like to do a complete flush. Thanks. As far as your question is concerned, if you such out as much as possible and do the a few times with short drives in between, you'll get most of the fluid changed. It'll be diluted, but better than what is in there currently. By the way, I think this is the most current replacement fluid for the old CH 202...

Pentosin CF-11... I would run that by your local Dealership though first.

Just be aware that retrofit HID kits in non projector head lights are illegal in some states due to being non DOT and causing severe glare to on coming driver's (read ticket bait), and will also cause the car to fail its annual safety and emissions inspection.  We are forced to fail cars for this regularly.

    JFP,
I have a 2002 C2 with the litronic Osram H7U bulbs. Do you think it'll cause problems if I use a 4500k halogen HI bulb? Or if I upgrade the bulb to a HID bulb? In addition, what's your thoughts on the high beam being replaced a something brighter either a halogen or HID set? Thanks
