  1. Just a quick update to my climate control problem. I installed a unit with the same part number that I bought on ebay ($150). It worked perfectly and no calibration was necessary.
  2. I took it to the dealership yesterday and, as predicted, the climate control unit is the culprit. The unit is somewhat expensive ($600 at dealer, $150 on ebay), and I'm going to replace it with a used part. I was charged 1.0 hours of diagnostic time ($92) and will have to go back to the dealership once the replacement unit is installed so the unit and the vent servo motors can be calibrated via the PST. Wonder how much that will costs ...
  3. The climate control is malfunctioning on my 01 S. Whenever I turn the heat on, it continues to blow cold air. Also, air is constantly blowing out of the top and middle vents regardless of the vent setting on the climate control unit. The display on the climate control unit seems to be working okay, and when I change the fan speed I can hear a corresponding change in the fan motor speed. I can also hear the A/C clutch engage when I turn on the A/C. Does this sound like a bad climate control unit? Does anyone know how to access the diagnostic mode on the 01 climate control unit? I did a search and the previously published method (hold “recirculating” & “air up” buttons for 5 seconds) did not work on my 01. Thanks in advance for your help.
  4. I need to re-route all speaker wires to the rear trunk to connect to a new amp which will be placed in the rear trunk. I currently have a "loose install" with the new setup in the front trunk. I need to re-route 8 speaker wires, 3 sets of RCA cables and the Amp power/ground wires. I can put the Amp on either side of the trunk if it will make things any easier. I'm looking for any suggestions or tips, particularly around the engine compartment and rear trunk, as this is my first time with such a project. Thanks in advance.
  5. I just bought and installed a Kenwood 9000HDS from Crutchfield. It's a AM/FM HD receiver, CD player with a built-in Sirius tuner. It was only $299 (after rebate) and came with a $30 Sirius gift card. It's the only all-in-one unit I could find.
  6. I bought a rear speaker kit from Harvey on ebay more than a year ago, and recently decided to upgrade the stock 4x40 amp to a 6x40. I sent Harvey an email asking where I could find a wire harness to connect the rears to the new amp. Harvey replied that he'd give me the wire harness and detailed instructions free of charge. He even shipped it priority mail! Thanks Harvey for the great customer support.
  7. Can't help you with the problem, but in case you need a replacement amp, I do have a spare m490 6 Channel and a spare m490 4 channel amp for sale very reasonably, not sure if the m490 can replace the m680 though, tbd. Anyone else interested in the amps, please let me know, they do not come with the harnesses, but one can come with the OEM mounting bracket. Tony I'm interested in the 6x40 (non-dsp). How much?
