  1. Awesome car. Love the options. Speed yellow is the best car for the 997. Black hides the beautiful curves of the C4S rear. Silver and white doesn't show the line as well as yellow. The car hobby is a great for bringing father and son closer together. Happy motoring and enjoy this fine car in good health
  2. bummer. hope the dealer won't charge you for the rms repair. May want to call LN engineering for IMS kit while you are doing the RMS replacement. Heard the IMS kit for the M97 engine 997 is available. Good luck
  3. Got a clunking noise whenever making low speed turn in the parking lot which goes away at normal speed. Was told to replace a pair of front control arms + a pair of lower control arms to fix the problem. Has Anyone tried Vertex auto's refurbished (better than new "as claimed") control arm kits with improved ball joints. Thinking about ordering the following parts. 1. Part No: 99634105316R Rebuilt Front Control Arm x 2 (Left & Right) 2. Part No: 99634104306X Rebuilt Lower Control Arm x 2 (Left & Right) Should I order any other parts when I present the above items to my local mechanic? Anything I should change out while disassembling the control arm apparatus? Many thanks for your advice.
  4. Found out from flat6innovation the intermediate shaft retrofit kits are only made for the M96 engine (996). According to Raby, M97 engine has a larger bore bearing which will not allow fitment of IMS retrofit kit. Would this mean that buying a M97 997 is a great risk? Would the DFI engine be the more durable and reliable choice for a used 997 purchase?
  5. I currently have these D2 racing coil over suspension on my 2000 boxster. I've had these installed on my car for more than a year now and the ride is still good. It is a very firm riding set up though. I had OE suspension on H&R spring prior to this set up. My previous shocks were making strange noises when going over parking bumps. The D2 shocks are very firm in comparison to my friend's bilstein PSS9. I have my set up at the tallest and medium setting and have not bothered to adjust the settings after initial installation. The boxster rides as stiff as my lotus elise with sport suspension. It could be a good thing if you participate in track events.
  6. Thanks nick for the valuable info. I have left the lever in the uncoiled down position for the throatier sound. The muffler still sounds timid. Perhaps the PSE is not supposed to be as aggressive as the GHL system. I will keep this muffler nonetheless because of its cool looks.
  7. Question for fellow members with experience with installation of the 986 PSE system. I bought a used 2000 Porsche 986 2.7 Tiptronic with PSE. I noticed a lever on each side of the exhaust system which can be pulled to the up position. The lever automatically recoils into the down position when left alone. I bought the car used and the PSE was not properly installed with any interior switch or electronics. I noticed that the muffler is slightly louder when the lever is left in the down position and quieter when it is pushed to the up position. Is there any way to unleash the sound of this PSE system without installing any wires/electronic switches? I'd like to have the existing PSE in the loud all the time mode. I have now left the levers in the down position hoping for a louder sound. Many thanks in advance.
