  1. Thanks John, I think i'll do that, just get them to recharge the system, and then take it to an ac specialist and see if he can determine where the leak actually is. Thanks! Phil...
  2. I have been doing a fair bit of reading here, especially about the a/c system on my 99 C2. It completely stopped blowing cold air a few days ago, so I took it to a local Porsche specialist here in Dubai. (Driving with no ac here is NOT nice!!) I received a quote from them, they say that I need to replace: 1. A/C Low pressure pipe 2. Flap Motor and Evaporator 3. Dryer Bottle and Evaporator The cost they have quoted (with labor) including recharging the gas is about equal to 2000 US. That seems a bit high to me, am I wrong? The quote for item 2 ¨Flap Motor and Evaporator¨ is about 1000 us. Sound right? Thanks everyone in advance for your opinions.... Sweaty Phil...
  3. I would be in if the price was right, and if there is one for a 99 C2? I had a tubi exhaust on my M5, absolute bliss!!!
  4. Thanks! Yeah for dome reason the manual transmission on the M5 used ATF... Booop! Thanks for letting me know the amount of fluid, need a couple more bottles of Gear oil! Phil...
  5. Hi! I have some RP 75W90 sitting in the garage from when I owned an M5, lots of guys there swear on it... I was wondering how much you needed for your 996? I also have a couple of bottles of RP Synthetic ATF sitting around, but I don't need this for the 996 do i? My car is a 98 996.... Thanks! I have never heard anything bad from people who put in RP on the M5 board... Just my 0.02 P.S. Ah the joys of battle scars from our cars are great!
  6. Hi, this is my first post, and I am picking up my new baby tomorrow from the mechanic. I cannot wait and no doubt today will be a sleepless night... :jump: I bought it a few days ago, and it's been at the shop to get the front bumper (OEM GT3) resprayed as well as the major service. I also need to replace both radiator fans, and mounts. Has anyone here done this themselves? I am an enthuthiastic DIY'er so some DIY links... maybe part no's and part price would be greatly appreciated. Also, I had an e39 M5 before this car, and I had used Royal Purple transmission oil and gear oil. They are GL 5 aproved, has anyone tried Royal Purple on their cars? And finally, I am thinking about a B&M Short shift kit, am I on the right track? Thanks everyone, I will post pics tomorrow! Phil...
