  1. Hello! 150,000KM, that is about 93K UK miles. 1st clutch, but to be honest, the engine is pretty OK, but the gearbox whines, and the cv-joints are outworn. No particular oil-leaks,and as the car has been driven hard, with average speeds of about 150KM/H during the 430 km journeys it has done twice a week, a pretty good result.Front has been repainted twice during this time,Frontscreen also exchanged 2 times. dampers, and springs once, but it is time again. Although there is still some life in the old lady, I am thinking of changing the engine -gearbox for a 3,6, ore renovate the engine at Autofarm in England, and then take the oppurtunity to enlarge the capacity to 3,7 l.It seems that a hard driven 3,4 will have lesser problems with the engine than others? At least there are a lot of used 996 here in Sweden that have done more than 100.000 KM, the larger part in Germany, which have had no problems with the engine.
  2. Hello! Late Answer for this one,but I hope it is still interesting to You.The old "horseshoe" is in fact made of 3 pieces. The newer one is 1 single piece. You can adapt the newer one, but you need the newer ventgrill, and if you dont want just to blank of the space under the new grill, you also need the cupholders. You have to cut of the upper part of your old frame that the "horseshoe" sits on, but that is easy whith a dremel or small saw. (Its only fastened by 4 screws)The tabs on the newer "horseshoe" then fits. You also have to adapt the length of the duct of the new ventgrill,to make it fit in the duct coming from the ventilation. I cut the new one, cut of the last piece of the old one, and "welded" them together with some silicone. It is much :renntech: easier than it sounds, and the whole work should take you less than an hour.Regards , Blondie
  3. Hello! I am going to do the same change to my 99-carerra 2,and have bought most of the Parts on e-bay.You are aware of that you have to change the Frontwings to? And thefasteningplate for the Lights? I haven´t have Time to look at the wiring yet, but the only Information I have got is that the Contacts from a Cayenne is possible to order individually, and fits the Turbo-facelift lights. The Guy who told me In England on the latest"Festval of Speed" hade done the Conversion on a GT 3.His Name is NoelMarsh, and he has a Firm called Cool it automotive - WWW.coolitautomotive.com.He should be able to help You with a Wiring Diagram, and if You get the Information please put it on the Forum Regards ,Lena
  4. Hello! On my german sold 996 C2 manuell -98 I have yellow scock absorbers. On the one I can read(L rear) there is the number 996 333 980 05.The car is lower than "standard",and the Spring (L rear) seems to be marked Whith white-lilac dots or white-grey dots. What suspension is this? The date on the Schock is in feb.2002, so not originally installed. Thanks! PS. I love this forum-It has already helped me get my cruise-control working, and giwen me a cool garage-opener.DS.
  5. An old Question, but as I had the same problems,I wanted to contribute. On my Europe--98 modell manual, there is 2 switches-1 above the Clutchpedal, and 1 over the brakepedal. Both should be PRESSED IN when the pedals are not used. These Switches have Bayonett fittings, just like the bulbs for example brakelight.Just turn them a quarter of a turn, and you can take them out.To test their function, press them all the way in,and fixate them in that position with some Tape, and let them hang loose.Go for a drive-If cruisecontrol works,You only have to PULL OUT the head of the contacts-You will hear how it "clicks" when you do this. Now compress the clutch pedal-insert the contact-turn it in the "locked position",and GENTLY release the pedal. The contact will now get automatcqally adjusted to the right length.Do the same with the brake pedal. On my car both had no contact when depressed. You could ofcourse just press the pedals down, insert a small screwdriver behind the head of the contact, and lever the contacts out before you release the pedals, but as it is a little bit awkward to reach the contacts,I found it easier this way Lena :renntech:
  6. Thanks!I should offcourse have written which Year, but the car is a-98,and the lights are marked -99!
  7. I am a new member, but "old"porscheowner from Sweden-Could you help me with the numbers for clear triangles WITHOUT washers for R + L side? THANKS ! LENA
