Hi all, My thoughts ! I purchased a 2000 boxster S, 6sp manual, in 2005. It had 25,000km on the clock and it now has 65,000km on the clock. For years I had wished I could one day own a porsche and now i do. This car is fantastic to drive fast or slow. I drive it every day to and from work and every time I look in the side mirrors I remember I am driving A German designed and manufactured Super Car. And that is what it is like to drive the Boxster S. The boxster and Boxster S saved Porsche! That is a fact. If you want to treat it like a hot rod or a car that you need to change into something that sounds different or better, then you should have bought something else!!!!!!! (my thoughts only) Leave it as it is! If you have money to burn, buy a V8 clunker that makes a heap of noise and drives like it sounds. Stew -

Thats why I did it myself. :renntech: Welcome from Adelaide. Didn't realise that there were so many Aussie lurkers on this board (and presumably Boxa.net ! I have a Speed Yellow MY2000 Boxster S and as the plastic window will inevitably give up the ghost sooner or later I too have been contemplating installing the BAS top. Just a few questions: a. where did you source the top (BAS in UK or a local agent) and "emuchisit" (that's Aussie vernacular for non locals!). b. any major problems or tips on the installation (i.e. things that caused problems or weren't covered in the installation instructions on the link you provided? Thanks in advance for your assistance. Thanks I initially contacted Bas-international on their web site. They put me on to the Australian importer. His name is Rob at Bas-international Australia. 8, 3 Dunlop Court, Bayswater 3153 Melbourne. Australia. Ph 0397381099 e-mail aus@bas-international.com Cost $1870 bucks It was involved, making sure that it was spot on. 2 hours to remove the old one, 5 hours to fit the new one. Take note of how it comes apart! Make sure you have some good double sided tape and sicaflex(very sticky sealing compound) Stew

Hi all, I finally fitted my Bas-International top. It took two off us about 6 hours. Hi all, I just purchased a Bas International soft top, with the glass rear window. I have downloaded a number of installation guides and will be installing the top this coming weekend. A mate and myself should be able to handle it. My question to you all is, is there any last minute tips I need to know before I start? I will be taking photo's along the way. The glass window in the top looks great. Can't wait till it's on. Stew :cheers:

The under side of my seat looks different to yours. It has about 4 black straps running from side to side. These are part of the suport I think. So I can't help with the wire hooks.

I have the same problem in my 00' S ! A couple of weeks ago I removed my drivers side seat (rhs) because there was a strange clicking noise in the seat when I stopped and started. Did find that the pins in the lift cylinder are slightly loose and allow the seat to move slighly. When the seat was out I noticed a small amount of foam crumbs under the rear right hand side of the seat. This turned out to be from the seat foam coming free from the under side of the seat. I looked closer and found that some of the straps are loose under the seat. It would be good if someone know's of a way to repair this problem. The 4 bolts that hold the seat down are tight, but do come out. With the roof down the seat comes out easy! Cheers Stew

I don't like the sound at all! It doe's not sound like a porsche at all. My 2000 Boxster S as standard has a good sound from inside the cab. The sound from your exhaust system is a little harsh. Does it exit out into the exhaust tip or just under the car? Stew <_<
