  1. Just want to chime in as I had this issue and resolved it. might help others. 03 996 with Bose (optical) My cd changer hasn’t worked for a while. And I’ve had battery depleting. Noticed the Cd changer was warm, so I disconnected it. Radio produced no sound after. I got a $6 MOST loop off eBay, connected that in place of the cd changer and now everything works.
  2. Thank you, this is very helpful information. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the glaze might be it. I am suspecting it would be something else than a worn bearing, since the clutch is rather new, and I drove 45 min in stop and go traffic today without being able to replicate the sound, so its rare but present.
  3. Hi, reviving this old thread. Did you find the fault? I have noticed the exact same issue, comes up after long periods of city driving so seems like an overheated or worn throw out bearing. PO replaced the clutch some 20k miles ago and the garage that did the job claims they used a kit including the bearing so I’m wondering if it might be something else. My clutch feels strong, no issues besides the squeal once in a while upon release in first gear. thanks
