  1. Thanks for the great help. my problem seemed to be that the cable was now too long and when pulled had to much play to unlock the trunk. I didnt see a post covering cable adjustment so i ghettofied the mechanism by adding a small clamp on peice of metal (read slip shot fishing weight) to "adjust the cable length. works for me.
  2. The zimmerman rotors come either with painted hubs or without. ensure you choose the painted or you'll regret it.
  3. BLUF: Any ideas on why my front hood release will not engage. 1. Opens with emergency release 2. Feels at the pull lever like its locked 3. Rear trunk is opened and freely moving 4. No movement at hood latching mechanism when lever is pulled. 5. Tried to unlock it with central and key in door no luck. 6. looks like cable is still attached. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT, even poorly thought out suggestions like: check your flux capacitor, or you have to fit 88 miles an hour before the hood opens. Also emergency hood release would better be descirbed as located in the under front of the car, under the spoiler, through the central openining, about a half a forearms length in. THANKS AGAIN!
  4. I recently installed a rear H&R sway bar and a GT3 front adjustable bar on my 99 C2. I have a complete coil over kit with adjustable ride height and damping. Spring rates are 6/336 front and 9/504, not that it matters. I also have installed adjustable sway bar links (heim joints) front and rear. My question is two part. 1. Is there a rule of thumb for adjusting the length of sway bar link/ position that the sway bar is located in when the vehicle's weight is on its wheels? I am experiencing a clearance problem in the front over some potholes. I adjusted the bar in-between the tie rod and I think upper control arms. The Porsche manual I have doesn’t give an idea of what right looks like, on the gt3 with the adjustable stab mounting block it just reads adjust for clearance when you adjust the ride height. 2. Torque specs. Since my setup uses the front wheel carrier to attach the sway bar links and retain the strut like stock, I not sure what torque specs to use. When I approach the 64 or so LB/FT mark the top heim seems to bind. So what specs do I use and how much "movement" should there be in the mounts? Also looking for someone who autocrosses their car to bet a base line setup. Thanks for any help!
  5. Well I completed the job.....almost. It seems as though the black trim that surrounds the climate controls will not work. I've looked at pictures of cars with this install or PCM and it looks to be a totally different trim piece. oh well i guess Ill order it from my service center. Two notes for anyone thinking about this mod is that 1. the climate control will be mounted on the bottom, becomes obvious once the parts are....umm apart. and 2. if the two plastic clips that hold the cupholders "frame" in place arent very firmly mounted then youre wrong. took me an hour without instructions. Also a I'm little bitter about the no help.
  6. I just installed and aftermarket set of coilovers and am looking for some help with determining a good ride height and alignment specs. I need to know how porsche measures its ride height. I would like to set it the ride height to something porsche does like the x73 kit or row m030. its a 99 C2
  7. if anyone has done this mod would greatly appericate some instructions, lost the diagram that came with my cupholder while the parts waited to be installed. help me clean out the parts bin that used to be my den! Thanks! :P
  8. as long as your car is a 996 version of the 996 you're fine.......however these intakes werernt desigined for the 3.4L engine your car has and the 23 horsepower gain is not overall when you look at the dyno chart the gains some in the middle of the chart. also k&N doesnt even list the part anymore.....and finally i have one installed and im seriously considering removing it due to CEL,, im a on my second mass air sensor since i installed it.
  9. just wondering if anyone has had any experience with schnell. specifically thier exhaust components. ive seen post regarding the quality of thier welds based off of photos but if someone could give me thier educated opinion based off of experience of pure speculation either or it would be great! :help:
  10. who is the OEM supplier for the GT3 suspension peices?
  11. :drive: Looking for an afforadble lightened "sigle mass flywheel" to replace failing dualmass. I dont want to pay the evoms price 500 OVER a dual mass. anyone with any experience with these?
