  1. Here is a DIY for an older Porsche. This will show the special tool you need. http://p-car.com/diy/sus/rear/rearsus.htm Paul
  2. I came across this picture with 11 or 12 speakers. Hope this helps you. Paul
  3. Here is a picture of the strut towers. It looks like three nuts hold the strut tower to the frame. The tower are just a little behind the wheels. Maybe you do get to these from the back seat. I do not know. You could try calling tire rack. Here is the pss10 for 997 cars. http://www.tirerack....0+Coil-Over+Kit Paul
  4. You might be amazed. Most dealers want to be your friend so that you will buy your next car with them. Go to the dealer to get their advice. Paul
  5. Sounds like water in you wires. Water can sometimes cause a short. If this goes away when things heat up, then you know it's water. Paul
  6. Let's hope that he put in the 997-2 cable. It is fatter then the 997-1 cable. Sounds like a normal price for this type of work. Should of taken about three hours. Sure is not an easy job. Paul
  7. I went to a good independent shop to have the fluid replaced. They told me that they would have to buy a 50 gallon drum because that is the smallest container the fluid is shipped in. I would not want to put Audi fluid in a Porsche. Maybe Mercedes fluid, but I bet that their fluid also comes in 50 Gallon containers. Paul
  8. You can dis-connect the battery for five minutes. This should reset everything. Also, try ejecting the CD in the player. It could be a bad CD disk. Paul
  9. Part 25 is the ashtray. I think the ashtray can be removed to empty. This should help.
  10. I had the cigarette lighter replaced under warranty. Maybe a new one will solve your problem. Paul
  11. I would say it is the alternator cable. You can measure the voltage near the alternator. Hammer a pin like you get when you but a new shirt into the red cable near the alternator. Then measure the voltage to ground. If you see a very small drop compared with reading off the battery, then it is your cable. Paul
  12. It is not a job for someone with very little experience. It is very hard job to do. I would sand the plate that the cable connects to under the car. Jack up the car and stick a jack stand under the car.. Disconnect the battery. Undo the nut with a 11mm or 13mm(I do not remember the size). Then sand the plate and the alternator cable. I have incluced a picture with an arrow where the plate is. It is on the passenger side. Paul Paul
  13. I went to an independent to have the fluid change and they said that they would have to buy a 50 gallon container of fluid. I had the dealer change the fluid. Paul
  14. Maybe you should phone the road side people for their advice. Paul
  15. I just wanted to point out the amount of heat that is needed to burn out the tires. I was just waiting for the Porsche to go thru his tires. Paul
  16. He is luckie he did not go thru his tires like this guy did. http://www.youtube.com/user/DCshoesFILM#p/search/1/4TshFWSsrn8 Paul
