  1. Hi all and thanks ahead of time. Backed out the 1999/ 911/ 996 with 72000 miles yesterday and took it for a 20 mile ride(first time in 1 month). I notice a small (3-4 drops) oil leak under driver side and left side of engine. First time I've seen this. (I'm Worried about IMS failure) Also...The start up noise(cold or hot) is horrible for about 2-3 seconds. Should I expect this, is the above normal? Any answers would be helpful.
  2. I was told they don't make them anymore. Tried 2 dealers and Sunset Porsche. I ordered a 2000 off of Sunset and it looks identical to a 99. The only thing I don't have is a explanation of my radio and I'm showing a cassette holder and the manual shows a cd holder.
  3. Thanks Did a search, got a lot of stuff about the IMS but you are the first one with a estimate. thanks again
  4. Could anybody give me an approximate cost of a IMS upgraded? Thanks
  5. Mines sitting till winter is over. 1. Change oil and filter 2. 45-50 psi in tires and put the car on old or scrap carpet. Put the car on jack stands would be better. 3. take out the battery and store it on a 2x6 (or a piece of wood)indoors where it will not freeze. 4. wipe down leather w/a good protectant 5. cover car with a dust cover. When you take it out of storage, you will have to reset the engines computer at a dealer or someone with a scan tool.
  6. Thanks.... I needed that. Hope you are a Steeler fan (Go Stilers)if not go eagles.
  7. Unbelievable and astonishing.... Congrats..... I've heard and seen the excellent reliable and bulletproof ability of the LSX engines. That's why I also have an 06 Z06. I baby my Porsche and beat the crap outta my vette. 20k for a 3.6(296 hp) or 10K for an LS7(505 hp). Smooth move guy. Me likey lots.
  8. Thank you geoff but Cig. lighter is dead(the fuse is ok). I did a check and could not find a problem w/the lighter. I will tackle that lighter in the Spring. Question still is, can I connect it to the recommended jumper ports? If the lighter socket doesnt work, dont take the chance of connecting via the jumper ports. I would think its best to connect directly to the battery. Thanks

  10. Hi all and thanks ahead of time. I am not going to use my 1999 C2 996 in the winter. I have changed the oil. I would like to hook up my Battery Tender to it. any advice on where to hook it up? Book says to the battery but I'm thinking of putting it where jumper cables should be attached. Appreciate any help
