  1. Hi, I have confidence in you. You can do it. It's what DIY is all about. Paul
  2. Hi, Make sure and work the screwdriver all around the plug. Just a little prying on the four corners should pop the plug. Then screw in your tow hitch so you can check the threads. Paul
  3. Hi, The tow hitch plug is plastic and the front bumper is plastic. They can take more abuse. Use painters tape before using the screwdriver. Paul
  4. Hi, A small screwdriver should pop the cap. Look in your tool kit and you will see the tow hook in there. Use it to get the right metric threads. Paul
  5. Hi, I have not used a wheel alingment bar either. I use a hockey puck for the jack. Works really good. Paul
  6. Hi, I know you can add a phone. The dealer will program the computer and install a atena in the trunk. The navigation player cost $2,600 not installed. If you put heaters in the seats, you probably need to replace the seats. Paul
  7. Hi, If you want to go fast then you need to spend money. There are so many choices it makes going fast a problem. Best bet is to talk to your Porsche friends. Paul
  8. Hi, Tsb's are copyrighted and can not be printed. Paul
  9. Hi Loren, The blue is like the ocean and is a calming factor. Good choice is the blue. Paul
  10. Hi, Go ahead and post your comments. The best way to make this fun is for everyone to get involved. Paul
  11. Hi, I know that ther is a Audi club that races at Thunderhill in California. You could search in California. Paul
  12. Hi, If you want a wing for the track, then higher is better. If you want a wing for style, then let everyone know. Paul
  13. Hi, I found out that the MP-3 player only works in the interior car stero. If you load CD's in the trunk, the MP-3 format will not work there. Hope this works for you. Paul
  14. Hi, My car had the odometer and the clock adjuster switched when I picked it up. I asked the dealer how much work is involved in the switch and he said alot of time. I also read a story that another person had the dealer work on the gages and now he has to deal with a rattle. At the time, I figured I could live with the knobs if I did not have to listen to a rattle. I now have read a story that the cluster is held in by two torx screws. This sounds like a cake walk in switching the knobs. I would do it myself but the car is still under warranty. Does anyone know how much time is involved in switching the knobs? Thanks, Paul
  15. I thought that only airplane motors get there oil checked. Never thought about it for a car. If the motor fails, you just pull to the side of the road and replace the motor. Paul
  16. I had no success so I sent Loran an email that the site was closed. He sent me the part list. This list is a great thing to have. I will be joining the renntech website shortlly because of this valuable information. This is a great site and I highly recommend it to all Porsche owners. I like to DIY and this site is well worth the money to get valualbe information. Paul
  17. I have sport seats and they are great for track use. You have a great picture but the fire extinghisher is under the wrong seat. Paul
  18. Hi Loran, I tried tha 997 Carrera 2005 site and it gave me a bad URL message. Guess I will try again in a few days. Paul
  19. HI, I have the dimmer mirrors and they work. My daughter really likes it when the passenger mirror dims. My brother tinted his windows which effects the dimmer. The dimmer sensor is in the rearview mirror. His side view mirrors do not dim like they were designed for. Paul
  20. Hi, I bought my clar side markers at suncoast for a 997 S. www.suncoastporsche.com Paul
  21. Hi Craig, The weld tabs are on my 997 S 2006. I bet there are on a 997 GT-3. I feel that the only way they would leave the tabs off is if they installed a factory roll bar cage. Let me know what you find. I would love to buy a GT-3 Cup car with sequential shift. Paul As said above.... we still don't know if the 997 GT3 has the rear belt bosses welded onto the unibody (like the 996 GT3 does) or not.
  22. Hi, If you look at the carpet under the rear window you should see small breaks. You would then get some tin snips and carefully cut the carpet. Under neath the carpet are brackets welded to the frame. You can use these as seat belt brackets. Paul
  23. Hi, I want to put the blue brake fluid in my car. This will be a good winter project. Paul
  24. Hi, I bought the Pagrid blue pads and they made a difference. The blue pads are for street and track use. Paul
