  1. Here are more pics of how my top looks like now...
  2. I have a problem with the fuel door release/actuator. Whenever I lock the door I hear this loud noise coming from the fuel door. Only happens when I lock the door. Does anyone know how to access that actuator?
  3. The used transmissions and motor I bought for $250, the other new parts cost me $127. So cost me about $377 not $450 actually. It's going to be a pain in the *** I can tell. But I love working on the car.
  4. Actually the old looking parts are the "new" ones. They came off a 1998. They work fine according to the seller. One of my motors is broken, when I move the V-lever it is loose. It looks like the gears are stripped or something. I might as well replace both motors anyway but I'll see. I got a good deal on both transmissions and the motor ($250). I will start working on it tomorrow. I was looking at the motor today just to get a rough idea on how to remove it. I removed the plastic bolts, but it was still kind of stuck in there. Are there any other bolts? You are right Tool Pants, I'm going to do a Top hip transplant :). I will take as many pictures as possible.
  5. Yeah I've already ordered them. Both pieces cost $26 including shipping! You gotta love Sunset Porsche :)
  6. Here are the parts I got just after posting this thread..
  7. What is the part number of this part in the rectangle? I don't think I have it on my 1997.
  8. I tried loosening up the cover and moving it to the left but that did little. The end of the cover is touching the top. I noticed that when I move the cover up and down, it moves correctly except when it almost reachs the down position, it moves to the right a bit. One more thing, is the gasket at the lower top look like this? I ordered a new one anyway just in case:
  9. Hi I'm new to this forum. Tool Pants recommended it. I'm trying to fix my top by myself after the $2k estimate by the dealer. All the parts needed for fixing my top will be here this week (rods, transmossions, etc). All the parts cost me about $450. I will update this thread as I go along. But I have a couple questions: my Top Compartment/Cover is a little bit misaligned: It should look like this:
