  1. 955.355.305.00 Pressure sensor -- US MSRP $80.95 Thanks Loren. I'm going to have a go at fixing this issue myself, now that I have the procedure from the manual and the part number.
  2. I downloaded a workshop manual from whichmanuals.co.uk I now have the procedure to troubleshoot the brake pressure sensor. Does anyone have a part number for this sensor, it's attached to the brake booster ???
  3. Well, we're now at a massive 15000kms, and this problem has returned. PSM failure, Air suspension failure, and the Durametric indicates 1435 brake sensor failure. The car is out of warranty, the [really poor] dealer is 2 hours away, does anyone have a source where I can purchase a workshop manual ?? TIA
  4. Problem solved. I simply loaded up the multi changer in the rear compartment and used it, and voila, the PCM decides to eject the stuck disc I was rooting around in the trunk as I was, and still am thinking about installing a Denison gateway usb / Ipod adapter. I also have a 2004 996, and might get one for this too.
  5. Thanks. I have searched, I can't see anyone who has been contemplating getting the PCM out and apart to try and look at this issue, and I'm worried that in trying to do this I will make a bigger problem. Regards Nat
  6. My 06 Turbo S has performed perfectly, although I only have 13000kms so far. From day one, somethimes the PCM would fail to eject a CD /MP3 disc. It would say "single CD disc not found". After a little while the PCM would recognise and eject / play the disc again as normal. I have now had a [shop bought] disc stuck in the the PCM for the last few months and I would like to resolve the situation. I have tried resetting the PCM using 1-4-8, I have tried pulling the fuse to reset the unit. I have even had a gentle poke around inside the CD slot, all to no avail. I'm thinking of taking out the PCM with a view to getting apart and having a look at the offending mechanism. [my dealer is several hours away]. I wonder if anyone else had a similar problem and how they solved it ? If I remove the PCM to work on it, will I have problems with "Radio Code" needed to use it again ? Any thoughts and suggestions would be most gratefully received. Regards Nat
  7. I'm not clear what you mean by "stop lights". I have no other issues /failures that I have noticed.
  8. I have a 2006 Cayenne Turbo S, 4100kms. Went to use the car the other day and 2 warnings spring up 1. PSM failure 2. Air suspension failure. I used a durametric cable to plug in to my computer and try and diagnose /clear the error. The only error read was "code 1435 Brake Sensor Failure" Clearing the error resulted in it coming straight back. The car is in warranty, but the dealer is miles away, and can't get round to the problem for 3-4 weeks. Does anyone have advice as to where to troubleshoot ?
  9. I just took delivery of Cayenne Turbo, black on black. I already have a 996 carrera 2, 2004. The Cayenne is awesome. I have a couple of questions 1. When is the first service due, does anyone recommend doing an oil and filter change after say the first 1500miles ? 2. Any tips on running-in, anything else that I should look out for. Thanks
  10. I have exactly the same problem as Cordrey, in my 2004 carrera 2. The car has never been modified in any way, xenon lights were fitted as an option. Once the instrument lights come on they usually switch on and off with the headlight switch ok. Just like something has to warm up. This problem also affects the rear licence plate illumination. I downloaded a schematic, and checked what I believe to be the relevant fuse and relay. I'm thinking of trying a new headlight switch, but can't see how a bad switch could do this. Has anyone else had similar and how did they solve it ?????
  11. Hello, this looks a really great site. I don't like to make a first post with a 'help needed' issue, and I hope to be an asset not a burden to you all. I bought a 2004 996 carrera 2 for my wife a month ago. The car has 69000 autobahn kms and proper main dealer history etc. Last week, after less than 500kms, the car started to misfire, felt as if it was not on all cylinders. It threw a check engine light which after a couple of kms started to flash. I don't have a dealer in my jurisdiction, and the nearest official dealer offered me an appointment mid-October. I put an infrared temp sensor on the exhaust manifolds / headers and discovered one exhaust was fairly cold. It was no. 1 cylinder. At a guess, and as a result of the info. I read on this site, I ordered a new coil pack. Sure enough when I took out the coil pack there was a big split in it. Car went back to normal, and check engine light went out within a day. I have a few questions, any answers much appreciated. 1. For the [fairly] small cost of parts, is it now a good idea to replace the other coil packs ?? I bought the new one from porscheshop.com in the uk. There were significantly better seals on the new one to keep moisture out of the spark plug hole. I've thought about buying one to have just in case, but not much use to my wife [or anyone] on a dark evening on the roadside. 2. Throwing unburnt fuel into a catalytic convertor will cause heat and damage to the catalyst. If the check engine light is flashing, do you really have to stop, at what point will the catalysts be damaged, is there for example a temp sensor in the catalyst which will warn of overheating ???? 3. What is the 'best' OBD 11 reader that I should buy, any personal experinece will be greatly appreciated. Will this enable me to read all error codes and cancel check engine lights if I should wish to do so manually. One of my other cars is a 2005 Hummer H3, and I would like a device that could also read error codes from this ozone friendly car, should I need to do so. :renntech: Mike
