  2. what up so dummy me  accidently left the key in the ignition and the battery was on its last leg. i understand you can release the hood with a cable located in the front right wheel well. after searching here in renntech and on my 02 996 cab, i could not locate it! anyway, if someone has performed this and could give me a little direction as to where this cable release is located it would be greatly appreciated :thankyou: do i have to remove the wheel and the wheel well cover for this?? thanks, bobby d
  3. what up and other dude, if you want to lower the car BUY a set of springs for less than 4 or 5 hundo bobby d
  4. well i really like the look to foot-well lighting and it is dark down there, lol. anyway if someone has done this or has some direction to help, it would be appreciated. i have my lights (CCFL, input voltage of inverter 12v, output voltage of inverter 680v, current draw 5.0ma) hope that helps. let's just assume i have the switch and want to put it in the middle console like the wing switch mod. thanks :renntech:
  5. :renntech: what up Tell me what you think guys and if Loren is up to it, maybe we can gather some more support and put something together :renntech:
  6. what up dude, i got an 02 996 c2 cab and wished i had waited to get 05 gt3 997. so nice! i've seen many 05 gt3's for sale (many still at dealers for around $80-100k usd.) don't forget to do your rms job when the gears get replaced

  8. what up first off i have to say that i reviewed many tires before finally make a decision to buy the bridgestone RE050A pole positions, and no i did not buy them just for the name ;) i reviewed the continentals(contis), the michelin pilot sports (ps2's), and bridgestones obviously. if you wish to see the tire and read about it from tirerace.com which is a decent source to me, you may here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?si...=4&i1_Qty=4  Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position REAR 285-30/18  if anyone happens to be running this tire and has any thoughts on it let me know, thanks bobby d
  9. The leak below the the crankshaft is the IMS (intermediate shaft seal). When they replace that they should use new micro-encapsulated bolts (or it will leak again). You should not have to re-map your DME but it would be wise to reset it by removing the battery for 5 minutes so that that it can re-learn it's adaptation. what up Loren you seem to be the 'almighty porsche god' so i bow down to you o wise one. well i got my car back a few days ago and i must say i noticed a difference in response and noise. i love the response enough to deal with the noise (clutch chatter), if anyone else is contemplating the upgrade, DO IT! im not sure of a few things though. one of which, is this clutch adjustable??? and how come since i have got the car back i smell something like burnt clutch smell? is this normal till it breaks in or this smell will be there forever? i can't say im burning the clutch up cuz it bites like a mofo :cursing: and i have been driving porsches my whole life. any indication as to what the horrid smell is and if it will go away? p.s. BUY THE SPEC STAGE 1 CLUTCH KIT + AASCO LWF FOR SOME WEEKEND FUN!!!!! :drive:
  10. what up finally getting new clutch (SPEC stage 1) with the AASCO lightweight flyweel, and RMS replaced. My shop called me back and doesnt know where an oil leak is coming come but tagarted an area right below crankshaft which appears to be a bearing with 3 bolts. anyone got any ideas or suggestion on this? i hope i dont have to remap the ECU too! anyone else have this setup? did you remap ECU due to the car stalling in nuetral?
  11. todd, DOPE INFO dude, much appreciated =D. heard little about Aasco lwfw and will probably go that route along with a sprung clutch kit from SACHS. I have no idea if she is leaking from the RMS but I do notice oil level declined over the past 3-4 months since i had oil/filter changed. i'm thinking since the tranny and clutch are out, the RMS job should be looked into. again thanks for you help
  12. what up james i like posted pictures of your car :D couldn't have selected a better porsche color and awesome SHOTS! maybe you have larger size images you can pm me?
  13. what up recently purchased 02 996 cabrio with 39k on her in august of 07. here we are in december of 07 and now the clutch needs to be replaced with only 44k on her and i don't drive her that hard xD anyway looking to replace clutch and flywheel (dual mass) to some kind of SPORT clutch or STAGE 1 clutch kit with lightweight flywheel and have been reading quite a bit on this subject. i think i won't mind the clutch chatter but engine stalling at a stop is not something i want to deal with nor the check engine light on 24/7. i have a few questions: 1) where is a darn 02-04 996 shop manual? can't find this thing anywhere but got one for the 99-01 996 if anyone is interested, pm me 2) suggestion on clutch kit (looking at SACHS, read good things about them but open to other brands) 3) suggestion on flywheel (looking at Fidanza) 4) what about doing RMS job at the same time as clutch/flywheel job?
  14. Loren, where does wiring flaps come in to play if there no switch install? i plan on getting U-shaped 2 1/4" piping 16 gauge and welding the two extra pipes in place. you did not do this procedure? thanks for the response all!! :clapping:
  15. 02 996 Cab C2 what up? i've been researching this PSE mod/hack for a while now and still have no idea between the difference of switch or no switch. is it just a sound thing to control? i'm going to do the mod shortly here and would like advice on which way to go. i'm thinking im just going to do no switch for less complications and love the way it sounds, why even have the switch?
