  1. 1) does the motor cables run behind or in front of the brass colored guide on the rear wall in the clam shell
  2. Good luck....5 hours for me....if I had to do it again...I can do it in 2 -3. You won't trim any time for the 1st time. Major difference after....
  3. Getting ready to order from CQ...what are people doing for the fog light....I might go with the 6000 and figure the the stock fog lights will look funny....
  4. I will be ordering this week and post pics...I have a black Boxter...been looking at them for awhile now....
  5. I want to wire the side makers to blink, in all the posts, the pics are X'ed out and the details are very vague. I have a great detailed post bookmarked and can't find it now.....anyone have anything...thanks
  6. I park on the curb the other day and backing off it scrapped the curb. It pulled the plastic under cover at the front driver bumper. Can't find a part number for it, looks like it may be 2 pieces, if I am correct, part of it connects with the inner lining of the wheel well,,,Thanks
  7. I started with a flat piece, the fuse box cover. No bagging if doing flat pieces. If you are doing curves, I would bag it. Simple UV clear coat spray works great and makes it look deep. I will add a link where I read alot of great info later this week when I am at a different comp. The key to the whole thing is to take your time. The cost for the carbon Fiber was pretty cheap for the amount that you get. So did you vacuum bag it when you did the overlay? How did you get a nice, smooth surface on the outside when you were done, did you have to clear coat paint or use additional epoxy layers on the outer surface to get it smooth? Kirk
  8. I just did mine today. Use pipe tape fron home depot and wrapped with duct tape....wrked great. I only drimeled off the very top of the cap and really didn't need to seal it because the cap slid into the sleeve and sealed itself. One thing...took 5 hours, if had to do it again, 3 tops. I really don't lan on doing it again...it was hot in Fla and no fun....but it's done....99% of the foam was gone.....next week, spark plugs...can't wait for the fun on that one also
  9. I have tried it, not too bad...start with flat pieces to get use to it..I'll post a site that has great reading. Sunset or Pelican sells replacement parts that you will do super cheap. You are going to do an overlay on the parts. It cost too much to make a full carbon part and too hard.
  10. Thanks for the quick reply.... Note: My old link has a couple PDFs missing, the updated location is hosted at: http://www.carboncow.net/index.php?option=...6&Itemid=51 I reviewed my write-up to check on why it's not clear. I believe you are asking how the flap comes out. All the hard work you are doing up top with the wipers and heater core is to remove the flap from the top. But as stated in the direcctions you do have to take the SERVERO ARM off under the dash. Everything is accurate in the write-up and when you start working it will all make sense. * Removing cowl to access heater core access area. * Removing windshield wipers, wiper arms and motor assembly. * Removing braces and brackets blocking heater core. * Removing heater core hoses and pulling unit straight up. * Taking servo arm off and removing bottom plug. * Dremel crown of door axis off for access to top plug * Removing door/flap and all left over foam * Sealing holes in door * Reinstall was opposite of removal.
  11. I am pulling the flap this weekend. Do I only go from the top or do I need to to do the top and the bottom. The top access is from the area under the wipers correct. I know I can do this with no problems, just a little confused on where to start taking apart, the pictures are not the greatest. Thanks
  12. I have a top with glass window. It doesn't go back very far, which leaves very little work space and it was the first time I ever saw the engine. If I had to do it again, 5 - 10 minutes tops...
  13. How much do you want for just a passager headlight..zman1858@yahoo.com
  14. I have dark foam material that breaks apart nery easy in the A/C vents. I'm sure that it's from the front filter, just want to be sure...Am I correct
  15. I would like to De-snorkel my car, the link with pic on the how to don't work anymore. I'm not sure were to do this, can anyone help me on this...thanks
  16. Just pulled the water pump off...what a fun job..looked at it and only 1/4 of the black propeller was there...no sight of the other 3/4 of it...where should I look for the rest so I don't end up with a blown engine. I did drive the car back home, about 3 miles when it went bad, so where ever it will go, it may be there already. Need to put it back together on Sunday...Thanks
  17. oh wel....looks like **** water pump....off to mobile,ala
  18. I've read all about the tank going bad and the cap should be replace with a XXXX-01....My cap is a xxxxx-00. Porsche here doesn't have a xxx-01 cap in stock and said that 00 should be fine, who knows....anyway...Last night coolant ran out like it was shot with a gun....this moring, I refilled and put the cap on....never cranked the car.....still a steady drip. Took the cap off and it started pouring. Would it be good to say the the tank is bad and the water pump is good. I took all carpet out of trunk and dry as a bone. Dealer closes at 4:00 and it's 1 hour drive. Quick help would be nice. Going to pull carpet behind seat to see if it is a hose....please post reply or if you feel like helping big time...call me at 850-221-8200....thanks
  19. My car was running like crap...spuddering, backfiring, no power....cleaned the MAF...NOW runs like off the showroom. Took me 25 minutes and I have never seen the motor since I have owned it. The only thing is I put a top on with a glass window and it won't go over the rollbar....not much room to work with. That should be fun later for someone.....
  20. Mine use to work with the key...but no unit under the seat. Any idea...
  21. Well, my key buttons won't work either. I removed the drivers seat and the only black box under there was one that looked nothing like the one in the pic. Didn't see a fuse anywhere. On the box said "ABS". I opened the lid and it looked nothing like the pic. Took the other seat out and nothing under there. Where could this thing be....1998 boxster....Thanks
