  1. the 15mm spacers have lug nuts not bolts, You put the lug bolts through the spacer and then it provides studs for the wheels. What I need to know since I'm buying the spacers used so I have no manual, is what should I torque the lug bolts holding the spacers on to and do I still use 130nm for the nuts that hold the wheel on.
  2. I just had the ROW 030 installed, how do I know if the shop actually put in the new rear bump stops and did not re-use the old ones. The reason I ask is because I can't find the old bumpstops in the old parts.... Are the ROW030 a different colour?
  3. You have not mentioned Schneider and Nelson in West Longbranch NJ. They are awesome.
  4. I need to remove my rear bumper and then reinstall it. does anyone have detailed DIY instructions for this. Thanks in advance.... Corey
  5. You will need to get your calipers rebuilt though, so factor that price in. Merijons does not do the rebuild.
  6. I wouldn't trust Costco with my porsche, I pay about $20 bucks per wheel for either the dealer or a local shop that advertises in the local PCA club magazine.
  7. You should create a pattern and sell it either already pre-cut alcantra or just the pattern, I know plenty of people who would be interested.
  8. Thanks, but I didn't want to have to cut anything so my dealer was able to add it to my order. Figure $630 bucks on a 75k vehicle is nothing. Cheers, Corey
  9. I believe boxster(base model) is a VW transmission shared with the Passat, the Boxster S is the same transmission as the 996(with a few minor changes). If you do find replacement parts(you might want to check some racing sites), please let us all know because at somepoint we will all need to do some tranny work if we keep our cars long enough. goodluck, Corey
  10. I'm not planning on towing anything, but incase it comes up in the life of my cayenne(I did not order the towing kit due to the weight)... Is there an aftermarket solution that does not require cutting or replacing the factory bumper? If not does anyone work for a customizing shop, it seems to me this might be something people will be looking for in the future especially as the people buy second hand cayennes and want to tow with them. Thanks, Corey
  11. Brad, Can I quote you to my wife, she thinks I have OCD about my car. I wont' park it anywhere suspect. I am the same way with her avant also. Corey...
  12. or are they painted with epoxy/ceramic paint. And why is one better than the other?
  13. Juat put them on, Havn't tried them in the snow yet, but in cold weather it's like night and day to the summer tires.
  14. curious, what are they going to charge you to replace the synchro?
  15. I have my caps and am debating putting it in till I get a cold air intake. Or I may just keep it in and no cold air intake.
  16. You still have that midnight blue console? I might be interested
  17. Is there an equivalent "muffler" builtin to the 996 airbox that I can just remove like the desnorking on the boxster to increase the intake noise without buying a whole cold-air kit. Has anyone done this or have they just gone the cold-air kit route. I will eventually get a coldair kit, but wanted to drive around for a month or two to see if the intake noise is too much at higher RPM. Thanks, Corey
  18. You may not need to run a wire from the rear bumper to get a signal that the reverse gear is engaged. Try to find the install instructions for the traffic pro. Under the drivers side seat there control box that has a connection with a reverse signal.
  19. I have heard of many GT3 owners just adding the rear seatbelts as there appears to be much more room in the back without the physical seats(around 20lbs savings as well).
  20. At that point you are better off with a standalone navigation unit(more flexible) like a garmin navigation unit. You will not need to hook it up to any amp(you can't hook it up to the porsche amp, it's fiber optic, so there will also be a problem for the traffic pro if you want to share speakers/amp with your current system). I used to have a streetpilot III(one of the first to have auto-recalculation when you make a mistake) which I used in my boxster, it was great and they have only gotten better and cheaper, also you get the flexability to take it in any car you use(i.e. rentals, wife's car). I went with the pcm2 on my 996 because I could and I got a really good deal on my unit(though it still cost me a few thousand to do). BTW: They now have touch sensitive streetpilot's with many more features and the prices have come down and the internal storage has gone up, so check it out. Cheers, Corey
  21. Try www.gettydesign.com, good prices and they are the oem maker of wings for many other companies like mashaw.
  22. unless you want to throw everything out(i.e. CD Changer/amp) and only keep the speakers you are stuck the the PCM2. There are retro fit kits or you can try to find a used unit. Look in the DIY section for installation instructions, very easy.
  23. Try to get a set from a boxster on ebay, it will have the orange reflector but won't be mistaken for litronics by thieves. I have heard where people on 996's have had the std lights stolen because the thieves were dumb and didn't realise they weren't litronics. I think in 99 the 996 sans lits had orange reflectors too. Also be thankful they didn't damage your fenders or bumper when they took the litronics out, I have heard of that one too. I heard this was a problem in florida and in california, luckly they seem to only go after nissan maxima's here in NJ(knock on wood). BTW you can have your headlights wired to the alarm in the car it shoud cost about 200 bucks. Goodluck, Corey
  24. I was driving next to a concrete divider with the windows down and everytime I went over a bump I heard a rattle from the rear of the car, is this normal? Other wise nothing unless I'm very low in RPM and in traffic. How can I tell before I bug the dealer? Thanks, Corey
