  1. I'll apologize in advance if this was covered in a prior topic that I couldn't find, but has anyone tryed installing this--it plugs into the antenna jack on the radio and provides a much clearer sound/signal than simply using the built in FM modulator--it works great on my Honda and I didn't know how difficult it would be to do to my 997. Thanks, Paul
  2. Thanks Loren--I was surprised too but didn't think I would burn enough oil to bring me below the min on the 30mil ride home from the dealer (I hadn't check the level myself as the sales rep had brought the car around and left it running when I picked it up. ) Thanks, Paul
  3. I recently bought a 997 with 1300mi on it from a P-dealer and the first day I drove it myself (after bringing it home a week earlier) and letting the computer measure the oil level, it only had one blinking bar--I added a qt of oil which brought the level to one bar short of the max-line. I guess I'm a little concerned that the car may have some damage from not having had enough oil in it--should I be concerned? There were no oil puddles under the car from having been sitting for a week. Thanks in advance, Paul
  4. Ditto! This site has been a wealth of useful and often entertaining/humorous information for me since joining earlier this year. Thank you Loren and Happy New Year! Paul '02 C4S
  5. I know the RMS problem has been beat to death and I thought I was one of the lucky ones that didn't have the problem until last night while "winterizing" the car ('02 C4S 6-spd) I found a small oil puddle under the engine/tranny connection. I'm storing the car in an unheated garage and this past week was the first time the temps had dropped into the teens--I last drove the car a week ago and there was no puddle when I put her away. Does anyone know if the temp an contribute to the leak? If so I'm wondering if using a small heater in the garage at night would help stop/prevent it. Thanks in advance!
  6. I can't seem to figure this one out and would appreciate any help! If I lock/unlock the car ('02 C4S) with one of my keys (yellow band if that makes a difference) the alarm goes off after I unlock the car (using either the remote or door lock) and won't stop until I start the car. I have no such problem when using the the car key. Anybody have any ideas as to the problem or the cure? Thanks, Paul
  7. Can someone please share with me a good description of the tool to use--I'm a little dense this morning and the tool described in the Owner's Manual doesn't look like anything in my tool kit--and the adjustment tube is so long I can't tell what the head of the adjustment mechanism looks like. Thanks in advance, Paul
  8. Can someone please share with me the correct way to remove and reinstall the plastic trim piece under the rear window runs the width of the window and sits between the window and the carpeting of the cargo area? Mine has started to rattle and I didn't want to risk breaking it while trying to figure out why it wasn't sittig properly. Thanks in advance! Paul
  9. Loren, I've posted to both Renntech and RennList with no responses so apologize for my personal plea but you're my last hope before having to go to the dealer! Do you have instructions for replacing the front chin spoiler on a '02 C4S? I can't figure out how it's attached to the bottom of the front bumper to remove and replace it. Thanks in advance for any light you might be able to shed! Paul
  10. Hi, can anyone provide me with DYI info on removing/replacing the front spoiler chin piece (the black piece the scrapes the ground first) and whether it can be done without having to remove the bumper? I didn't have any luck when searching the archives. Thanks in advance! Paul
  11. Given this is my first Porsche, I'd like to have the alignment checked when I have the tires replaced in a few weeks--can any respectable tire and alignment place do both on a Porsche or does it require some special dealer-only type of tools and expertise? Thanks in advance! BTW--I'm located in Central NJ if anyone has any recommendations to share. Thanks!
  12. Can anyway please share with me their service experience and ratings for the following dealers in NJ/PA--I recently moved to the area and would prefer not to learn myself by trial and error--Thanks! PA - Don Rosen NJ - Flemington NJ- Princeton NJ - Ray Catena
  13. Does anyone know if the C4S windshield contains something that would prevent my turnpike E-Zpass box/sensor from working? Thanks in advance, Paul
  14. You were absolutely right--this morning I left the cell phone/blackberry in the door pocket and no static on the 30min commute. Thanks!
