    I tried to put a sub in my C4 boot (trunk) but it doesnt work and it takes up room and I also have my kicker amp in there already with a false floor above it. I ended up putting a cut down sub tube on the back seat since I never use the seated area and my wind deflector is always setup so you dont see it anyway. I installed a 8" bazooka powered sub behind the back seats.....fits perfectly. Not to obvious either and install was quick. Definitely adds a bit of bass thump to the system. later

    K&N first impressions. I did not use the oiled filter that came with the kit to prevent possible issues with MAF ---> installed an AEM Dry filter instead, ~$50. About 500 miles since install - no CEL. I did have some issues installing it, specifically there were some brackets and fasterners missing from the kit, nothing that Home Depot couldn't solve. Change in engine noise? can't say since I had the FabSpeed kit insalled before. Sounds about the same maybe a bit louder. I also have the FabSpeed exhaust. All else is stock with the engine. As for drivability/performance, I definitely noticed an increase in performance. Seems to spool up faster and at speed, increasing your speed (say 80 -->100) is quicker. Very nice feeling. Overall, I like the kit. As for rain issues. Haven't come across that (SoCal) yet. I am looking to solve that. So far, i give it a :thumbup: jorge

    Has anybody done a DIY to replace the door seals (body side) on a 99 996 coupe? Too much wind noise where the rearview mirror mount meets the seals. TIA

    I replaced mine with Quart 5.25 subs, they fit the facory hole. Slightly longer screws though. A bit pricey but sound good. Search internet for best price. Hope you find what you are looking for. jorge <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jorge, did you run the 5.25 Quarts with the standard amp or did you put in a new amp to drive them? If you put in a new amp I assume you also put in a new head unit. Did the new subs make a difference? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I used the standard amp, i have thought about an aftermarket unit, i haven't got around to it. The subs did make a difference. My stock units sounded ratty. Also i installed a Becker Monza MP3 unit. jorge

    The door speakers are a standard 5.25" (13cm) unit, however it's the depth you've got to worry about (can't remember off hand), you might need to do a little cutting of the plastic surround do get it mounted. I needed to do this when fitting an Infinity unit.     Just had my replaced, ROW030, 99 996 coupe, springs, shocks and sway bars. Install cost was ~$900, including alignment and was completed in 1 day. I thought about doing it myself......the older I get, the more my knuckles hurt when i smash them. Besides, special tools and I don't mix. Recommend having a pro do it.....enjoy your time. jorge :cheers:

    I replaced entire MY99 original tx with the CGT remote.......dealer programming cost $50 (minus 10% for PCA members) at Pioneer Porsche, San Diego CA. Took about 45 minutes. I would reco this route. I can now actuate the locks about 20 feet away, I was never able to do that with the old remote....even with new batteries. regards jorge

    Question. Getting ready to replace spark plugs on a 99 996 6-speed C2. Any recommendations? I was looking into the Bosch-4 (platinum). Has anyone used these?? TIA jorge :help:

    I installed an Optima Red Top (~$100 at Costco). Had to adapt the base with 3/8" HDP sheet. Looks great and no spill worries. jorge
