  1. Perfectly normal and as the gear rations are "fixed" you won´t find the RPM any different in other Boxsters. They are after all, sports cars, not intended for relaxed family drives in the park.
  2. If the leak is so bad my guess is that the car would not maintain a sufficient volume of water top get to the dealer (unless they are very close). I would not recommend driving the car without it first being checked where it is. Alternatively get the car taken on a trailer to the dealer. Cannot imagine it is anything worse than a hose which should not cost a fortune. Good luck. Phil
  3. Folks I recently had reason to remove the centre console on my 98 Boxster (the section that covers the gear change and hand brake linkage) and came across a lot of loose change (really do not understand how this got in there). More importantly I found a loose "T" shaped bright green plastic part which carries the part number 986.424.010.01 The part is about 2" wide x 2" long. I suspect this is simply an "identity" plate which has come adrift from another part but would appreciate confirmation of this. :help:
  4. I an experiencing an intermittent probelm with the coolant / engine compartment blower warning light. This comes on for no apparent reason (slow flash) and will often re-set if I turn the ignition off and back on again. Collant level is fine and air is being drawn into the left hand side intake. Engine temp is seldom more than about 80. Any advice please. The car is currently in Southern Spain and would prefer not to use the Porsch dealers here. Phil
