  1. Just noticed that both the bulbs above my rear license plate are out. Was looking to replace with PIAA LED , will I need the PIAA T-6 or T-10 dome light bulbs?
  2. OK, Well, I finally got around to picking up some Porsche coolant, and just filled it up. The coolant that was already in there looked yellow. This Porsche coolant that I purchased was pink even after the 50/50 mix. I added it and the light is off, is there any reason why the original coolant was yellow? Thanks!
  3. On a couple of occasions recently, shortly after start up, the red light at the end of the temperature gauge has started to blink red. When I turned the car off and restarted it, it seems to reset and go away. Is it possible that I am low on coolant? The car has about 24K miles, and was serviced 2K miles ago...no leaks. If I just need more coolant, what kind/brand etc...and how much should I use? Thanks in advance!
  4. I just ordered a set of sport seats with plastic backs. I wanted to see if I could do two things: 1) Paint the seatbacks - how do they disassemble? 2) Convert to full power - I currently have supple full leather seats, the new sport seats have power backs and manual seat, can I some how retrofit the power front/back mechanism? Thanks in advance!! :help:
  5. Alright, well it snowed pretty badly in Chicago last weekend and my car got covered in salt. The next day I drove my car straight to the car wash about 5 blocks away, washed it and drove it straight home and parked it. Well, when I hopped in my car today...4 days later...and disengaged the park brake I had to give the car some gas before the brakes broke loose of the rust...ughh. Anyhow, the first few brakes were very weak and had a scratching noise. As I kept driving they started to get better, but were still making a noise. Anyhow, I drove around for a few blocks and decided to park the car. Will this noise eventually go away or did I cause any permanent damage to the brakes? Thanks in advance... joe
  6. How do I successfully remove this piece without scratching the leather dash or the finish on the piece? Thanks in advance....
  7. Looks great, I did the same on my coupe... Are the exhaust tips those from a C4S or TT?
  8. Is there a difference between the exhaust tips on a C4S and those on the TT? Are they interchangeable? Thanks, Joe
  9. Thanks for the help. So I assume that these are the ones with the wider bypass pipes and the throatier sound. I was deciding between the fabspeeds and these (used 5,000 miles @ $950) for my 2000 996 C4. I appreciate all the input.
  10. So, are these the most advanced version of the PSE for the 996 or did they release a better, more improved set? I know there was the first one specifically designed for the 3.4, and then a later version which was built for the 3.6 but had the capability of being installed on a 3.4... Thanks again!
  11. What model PSE contains the following mufflers on the PSE? Are these the 3.4 or 3.6 versions? 996.111.385.01 996.111.384.01 Thanks in Advance!
  12. We never got much of a response, but Ghost Rider on Rennlist gave it a try and wrote up the directions with pictures.... CLICK HERE Loren, is this correct procedure? T.I.A.
  13. Has anyone had success with this particular mod? I ordered the caps about a year ago, and they have been sitting in my glovebox, never figured out how to install them? Any pictures...maybe a DIY? Thanks in advance! Posted by MKW on funcarsonline Just get a # 273-1P cap plug from ..... A company called Niagara , in Erie , PA . Pull off the rubber side bridge hose from the air box, drop in the cap plug , reinstall the hose and you have accomplished two things : bypassed the noise police required intake noise suppression resonator to improve induction sound above 4500 rpm and possibly smooth air intake from the MAF path. Ask them for a sample and they will send it to you free. Works on all 99-03 9x6 motor 996s . Lot cheaper than the Fabspeed , even if you add a BMC filter and pop out the plastic screen before the MAF sensor - just don't remove the wire screen . Also, I'd cover the holes in the lower right of the bottom of the air box that does nothing more than draw hot air from the right muffler area - defeats the purpose of the cold air snorkle that feeds from the engine lid, IMO Don't worry - there are separate water drain holes in the bottom of the box, away from heat. 14. :help: I am looking into purchasing 18” TechArt Formula wheels, 18 X 8.5 (50) and 18 X 10.5 (42) for my 2000 Carrera 4. I need tires and was wondering what was the largest I should go with for the front and rears. Could I do 285/30 in the rear without any problems? SO3s or Pilot Sports? Thanks in Advance!
  15. They were advertised as Porsche Sport Mufflers for $500 with tips...knew it was too good to be true. Thanks!
  16. They are exactly the same as the standard calipers that come with any Carrera, also the same as the standard red calipers that come with the Boxster S or Carrera optioned. The big red brake calipers are the models that come only with widebodied C4S and Turbo. What color do you have now?
  17. Do any of these tires handle better in snow? It looks like the SO3's are favored, where is the best/cheapest place to obtain these, and what size would you recommend for 2000 C4 (most likely adding 7mm spacers in front and back). Thanks Loren!
  18. Hello, I know people have voiced their opinions regarding ride quality on different tires. My Pirelli tires are just about at the end of their life, and I've begun to look for new tires. I wasn't too happy with the ride quality that I have received from my Pirelli's (very loud..too many rattles). From what I've heard, the Contis, Michelin, and Yokos all provide better rides than those of the Pirelli. I don't track my car much, and the roads in Chicago make for quite an uncomfortable ride. Thanks! 2000 C4 18" Sport Design Wheels Fronts: Pirelli 225/40 ZR18 Backs : Pirelli 265/35 ZR18
  19. I was looking to put wheel spacers on my '00 C4 with sport design wheels. Has anyone tried this before? Any experience with the H&R Spacers? How large can I go in the front and the rear? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Specificall looking at the H&R DR series: 7mm for fronts 14-15mm for rears What size bolts would I need? Thanks in advance...
