  1. Adam, what color is your paint? I'd recommend getting touch up paint from the dealer for a small scratch, but there can be shade variations in the paint from the factory batch to batch, either in the cars or the touch up paints, so the next level for a better match is to go to a local auto paint store and work with someone who's willing to eye match the color more exact. If you're not able to find someone, there's a guy here in L.A. at Ray's Auto Paint that really spends the time tweaking the mix until he can get it as close as possible. I don't recommend these online paint scratch kits. You c
  2. Does anyone know anything about altering the activation of the Variocam system to increase the low/midrange power? A Cup car tech had tried to explain to me some of the different power tricks they were using on the GT3 motors, and was trying to describe about how to alter a vacuum line by the intake manifold which alters the intake cam timing on street cars which is initially set for emissions. Without a factory manual of the workings of the motor, none of this was clear to me.
  3. can a PST2 reset service reminders on a 997? I don't think I remember seeing a 997 in the menu.
  4. two W6 tens in an enclosure in the back is going to weigh a lot! Probably 60-75 lbs total which will throw off your car's balance and slow it down. Have you considered just a good single 8? Here is an enclosure that houses an Image Dynamics 8" in a 0.22 cf enclosure and total weight including the subwoofer is only 15 lbs. It is powered with 300 watts off two channels of a single tiny JL 600 watt digital amp under the passenger seat. It hits very hard and tight, and will forcefully vibrate all the panels in the car if that's your thing. Cover with black Silverknit carpet and it blends in
  5. Update: seems the paint I received from Dr. ColorChip is the cause of the mismatch. Initial order they sent me was not even close: I email them, and they tell me they're going to send another bottle. New bottle is an even worse mismatch than the first. I think they're just winging things over there. See below: Instead I have the local PPG distributor mix up a batch from their computer database, and bingo, virtually perfect match and a hell of a lot less expensive.
  6. Thanks Loren. Do you know if that's different than B4? Seems several paint sites like paintscratch.com list Carrara White with the combo code B9A/B4.
  7. Can someone with a white GT3 do me a favor and tell me what the paint code is on their car? I thought they were supposed to be Carrera White (B4), but some Carrera White touch up paint I have looks to be greyer and a yellower than the white on my car. The touch up paint does seem to match the color swatch in the sales brochure I have for the regular 997s. TIA.
