  1. I too am trying to decide on which of the two to buy. I currently have a 993 TT and love the performance except that the 4 wheel drive seems to take a little of the thrill out of the car. I drove a 997 TT and felt that it was incredibly fast and was effortless to drive fast but I wasn't sure if that was what I was looking for. In 89, I had a 911T (930) that really didn't perform well right out of the box. Porsche was in a little financial trouble at that time and it showed in some of the performance details of the Turbo. I had a lot of after market work done and ultimately it was a great car on both the track and street. Best of all was the fun-challenge of handling the rear wheel drive arrangement with all that power. I haven't driven a GT3 yet but it seems that it would be a real Porsche driving experience as opposed to the technological TT. All of the mechanics at my local Porsche dealership vote for the GT3 as their favorite car to drive and now with the adjustable suspension it is even comfortable on the street. I am about 90% sure that I am going with the GT3. I have an order that should be built in Dec. for Feb. delivery.
  2. Ihave used Gary Bohrman of Exclusive Motorcars in Upper Montclair NJ for about 15 years now. Prior to Ruf centralizing their US distributors, Gary was a certified Ruf dealer. Phone 973 744-1932
  3. After 2 weeks without starting, the battery in my 96 TT is too weak to start the car. The battery has been replaced, a battery drain test done and the charging system tested. A local mechanic that I have a lot of trust in said he has seen a relay on the cooling fan be the problem. Supposedly it causes the fan to run constantly and this prevents the car from fully charging the battery during normal use. Does anyone have any thoughts?
