  1. So I've unsuccessfully been looking for a pic of how a carpet-less 986 looks like, but no luck. I.e., I'd appreciate if someone could give me a pointer. Besides, I''m also looking for a pic of how a stripped down (fully exposed) brake handle looks like -- without all the plastic. I just got those aluminum race floor-panels that I'm debating whether to install, in lieu of my soaked & stinky carpets, or not: (Btw, if anyone in SF bay area knows how to reset an immobilizer, please p.m. me) -- peer
  2. Actually, I don't want it -- I have it. I.e., I bought a 2002 Boxster-S transmission for a 996 911 engine-swap, but never installed the tranny. Hence, I'd like to sell this 6-speed transmission but need to know what models it would fit.
  3. So will it fit, for example, a 2000 non-S Boxster..? (i.e., to bump it from 5-speed to 6-speed)
  4. I'd like to know which model years a 6-Speed Boxster-S 2002 transmission will fit.
  5. If anyone knows Flintworks' former mechanic, Steve, please PM me. -- peer
  6. Yes, and now, nine years later, I'm still curious to know how much the labor ran for Mr. Qikqbn's engine swap. -- peer
  7. I'm curious to know how much a 996 twin turbo weigh, engine only. -- peer
  8. I wonder if anyone knows what the accurate horsepower figure is for a 911SC 1982 model? I've seen it listed with everything from 170 hp to 204 hp (the latter figure from Wikipedia). -- peer
  9. After I got my see-through engine door, I've discovered a few things that make me go 'hum'. One issue is that the throttle cable doesn't pull the throttle all the way when the pedal is floored -- it's still possible to pull the throttle a bit further with my fingers. I wonder if this is due to an old stretched out cable? I checked my Bentley shop manual, but I couldn't find how to adjust this cable. Any help & suggestions appreciated. -- peer
  10. Just a silly video from a spin through the local canyons with a fellow European. Since my bike was in the shop, I drove the P-car. In the midst of it, this is what my security dash-cam picked up -- a suicidal/fearless squirrel doing a river-dance right in front of the bike: -- peer
  11. After unpacking my '98 Box from storage (for almost a year) I realize that the A/C isn't giving me any cold air. Before I parked it, the A/C worked perfectly. As always, any help appreciated. -- peer
  12. I just found the culprit; a broken shift rod (see picture below). But I have no idea how to replace it -- I don't even know how to get it off (looks like it's crush pressed) and probably need a special tool..? Again, any help appreciated (and if you're in the Redwood City, CA neighborhood and would like to help me, I'll happily treat you for a fancy dinner ;^) -- peer
  13. Thanks for replying. Tomorrow my buddy and I gonna try to figure it out. And yes, I've tried the search feature of this forum, but to no prevail. -- peer
  14. Oh boy, this won't be a 'happy new year' -- when driving home tonight I suddenly couldn't get my '98 Box into 5th gear... and then, shortly after, I realize that I only have 2nd and 4th -- no 1st, no 3rd, and no reverse. The shifter is also "loose", vertically. As always, any help appreciated. -- peer
