  1. The cluster lits, tried to jump start connecting jumper cables to the prongs on the engine bay but no cigar.
  2. After letting the car without a tender for the battery the battery was completely drawn. Charged it. Showing 12.9+ volts ans the car won't turn. Battery gauge shows 12 + volts. Correction, it won't turn.. Any ideas? 996 MY 99 6 stick shift.
  3. I have a PST2 cable available if you are interested.
  4. The sticker with the codes in my car shows code X34. Would that explain the white gauge dials?
  5. Thanks everybody for your suggestions and possible solutions. Will start checking the connections since I took the cluster apart to replace all of the cluster bulbs. The battery gauge was working fine before the bulbs were replaced. Also forgot to mention that the battery needle gauge was inside the divider of the other gauge, see arrow. I took it apart in order for the needle to show. I have a PST2.
  6. The battery gauge in my 996 MY99 6 speeds won't just shows close to 11 v. Checked the battery while the car was off and shows 12.70+ v. Checked battery in idle and it shows 14 + v. So, the battery is OK as well as the charging system. What could be wrong? God forbid, in the event is not a fixable issue and the cluster needs to be replaced, the odometer millage is stored in the cluster or in the car's computer? If in he car's computer, guess any compatible cluster, regardless of the millage the seller says it has, shouldn't be a problem and it will show the real millage of the car? Thanks
  7. I spilled some brake fluid on the trunk (front). The liner got soaked and there is some fluid on the meta floor. What is the best way to clean the liner and the metal floor?
  8. Is it recommended to put anti seize grease on the wheel bolts?
  9. Did you sand blasted the calipers? Cause mines got a bit rough surface. That's why I was wondering if the G2 epoxy paint, since is thick would be best. IS the VHT a thick paint?
  10. I had my calipers sand blasted in order to paint them. The surface turned out a bit rough. Should I used G2 epoxy paint. ? Thanks. PS, I'm rebuilding the calipers as well.
  11. Do a search on eBay. You may find what you need.
  12. Would a 1600 degrees seize high temp grease suffice?
  13. May I suggest hi-temperature anti-seize.
  14. Whacks... no cigar, stripped the bolt. Will be welding a bolt on the bolt. Can't think of anything else. Getting new caliper bolts for each caliper and getting anti seize grease.
  15. Thanks. Did put penetrating oil, in fact PB Blaster, at the head and as you mentioned between the caliper and the wheel carrier. I'm letting it soak overnight. "new bolts are recommended by Porsche as these are one-time use bolts" Meaning to replace the bolts with new ones? I've been using a Craftman 10mm socket bit and a break bar, 24" long.
  16. One of the caliper holding bolts is !!!!!!!EXTREMELY!!!!!! hard, afraid may strip the head. Already soaked with penetrating oil. Any suggestions?
  17. Are these shims re-usable? Had to use a blade to get them off the brake pad, had some sort of glue in the back. Would that be the anti squeal paste? Thanks
