  1. Thanks Joel, I sent a note to Sunset to see if they have the hose. I searched NAPA and they have the water pump for 157.00. I have already replaced the cap of the expansion tank, so I dont need a new one. Did you replace it yourself? How hard was it? I went to the DIY section and saw the video. Did you have any troubles? On a side note, my car squeaks whenever it is wet (after a car wash or heavy rain). Could the water pump be the cause of this also?
  2. Just went out to double check, can't see the drip coming from above. It looks likes its coming from the end of the hose....
  3. Hi Everyone, I just discovered a coolant leak from my 1999 C4. It is a small leak and a couple of drops appear overnight. I tried to stop it with a worm clamp but it has not stop the drip. Can someone tell me the part number that is the below hose? Is it just a simple removal of the clamps and attaching it back on? As always, thanks for the help.
  4. Hi all, I still have not been able to resolve my problem. My belt squeals whenever it gets wet. Its a new belt and the alternator is new also....I have been reading about belt dressing... Can I use this stuff? Will it harm the car??? Thanks,
  5. Thanks for the pic! (nice color choice)..... do you see the black piece of plastic inside between the spoiler and deck lid (red arrow)? I think i am missing that part.... Anyone know the part number for this?
  6. the air box gets its cold air from that one spot, but what about the other parts of the lid? There are all kinds of holes and openings that could let water into the engine area. Do you have any coverings on those parts?
  7. HI, Everytime after a car wash or heavy downpour, my engine gets soaked and my Polyrib belt slips. I have brought it into a mechanic and he says the belt is fine and does not know why its slipping. I am wondering if I am missing something on my rear deck lid that allows water to get in. Here is a picture of my spolier and what it looks like from the inside. I can see right through, is there suppose to be something there? what does everyone elses look like? Thanks for the help!
  8. Thanks for the help, i will take the car in for re-calibration.
  9. other the noise, what does a failing pulley look like? After I take my polybelt off, what should i look for (looseness?)
  10. Thanks Loren, I was hoping to locate the sensors and trick the car into thinking it was fully closed, then starting the operation again. Hoping that this would fix the operation of the top. Do you know where they are?
  11. Hi, I have a 1999 C4. I was wondering if anyone knows where the sensors for the convertible compartment lid are located. My convertible light is on and I think its my convertible compartment lid that is not closed completely. Thanks
  12. Thanks for the reply, so you had manually moved the top, did the convertible light on the dash board go away when you did this? My light stays on, and thanks to the speed hack for the top, I am able to drive on it.... I will definitely check the Hydraulics this weekend when I have a chance to remove my hard top (only car.....)...... Thanks.
  13. Hi, i was replacing my top and now the top is stuck. When I engage it with the key, nothing moves, but there is sound. The compartment led moved back and forth but now its stuck too.......From reading on rennlist, i am guessing (Hoping) that nothing broke and its just a time out error..... How do you fix the time out error? Do you just put everything back into place and restart the operation? I manually got the top to close to put my hard top on. For those of you who manually closed the top: Does the convertible light stay on? How do I know when the compartment lid is closed all the way? Do the side flaps come out? My car is 1999 C4. Thanks for the help.
  14. Sorry for so many questions, from the Porsche Service manual, it says you need to have the "Tension Bow Seal, Corner Bow Seal, and Filter piece" I assume that I can reuse all the bolts..... did you need the seals? where did you get them?
  15. Cool, I just ordered a new top, I will try to attempt to replace it myself.....
  16. i dont have an answer, but was wonder how hard is it to replace the top?
  17. so if i dont have a check engine light, i do have misfires? Thanks
  18. maybe a dumb question, but how do i know if i have a misfire? I do not have any engine warning lights.
  19. i dont know for sure. I remember going to advance auto parts and buying them. I think it could be autolite. Any issues?
  20. ok thanks, what should i look for regarding the drivability when the plugs need to be changed.... I have a C4 Tip.
  21. Hi, I have a 1999 996 C4. I changed my spark plugs at 60K. I am nearing 90K now and was wondering if I need to change the spark plugs again. I know for later MY the interval was increased from 30K to 60K. Was this because newer spark plugs lasted longer? Thanks for the help. Oh, the car runs great and has no issues with starting.
