  1. tx. Loren your thoughts though as I have no CEL and its completely fine now ?
  2. Ok so I have P0153 PC 021 / P1120 PC 117 / P1122 PC 431 with no CEL at any stage, I guess the last 2 codes could be because I am running a throttle Booster unit ??
  3. Strange its been fine for years with this set up, anyway driven for an hour again now with several stop starts and its totally back to normal
  4. Ok so drove the car as normal first thing, took the kids to town, on the way back I had a complete loss of Turbo boost from the moment I turned the car on, no obvious signs. Then stopped the car after 4 miles and restarted and I'm back as normal up to 1.2 Bar, ECU related ?? I'm glad I don't just have a 3.6L standard engine, its not much fun without the Turbos
  5. So who makes the best reliable lithium Ion Battery that weights no more than circa 10 lbs at a reasonable price ?
  6. It even seems that US Porsche recommended price is $831.08 ?? This is silly
  7. So you guys all think the price of $1100 is reasonable then ?
  8. Sure but my point is that even the Porsche OEM part costs circa $250 not $1100
  9. I understand the OEM part costs circa $200, otherwise the Bosch equivalent is circa $60 on Ebay ? Now the guys at Sportec did a great job on the gasket seals on my Tip but I did think that their proposed price for a new MAF of more than $1,100 was a tad steep, unfortunately I had to decline their offer as had a spare "Der Luftmassenmesser kostet leider sehr viel. Von Porsche 1038.86.- Sfr. Dieser Sensor ist führ sehr vieles zuständig- ohne diesen oder wenn er defekt ist dann läuft der Porsche nicht mehr einwandfrei"
  10. The transmission mount alone is pretty simple ,a lift and 3 hours labor, a good preventative measure If you need to do the gaskets too add 6 hours
  11. I am running 225/40R18's & 275/35/R18's by the way LM60
  12. Ok so on the advice of Tire Rack I went with Blizzak Winter Tires for my 18 inch TT summer wheels (11 inch rears) but the road noise is unbearable at 70 mph+ for long journeys, any thoughts or alternatives please ??
  13. So am I, let's continue enhancing teamwork around here please ...
  14. Ok so all solved, the smaller gasket was broken, Sportec changed Gaskets, Gearbox oil & filter and fitted the improved 997 tip transmission mount, still cost around $3,000 all in without the engine coming out
  15. tx. the area has been fully steam cleaned and evaluated and both gaskets are indeed leaking and I'll advise sportec to reassemble with the appropriate type of thread sealant
  16. Ok so lets continue as the objective is to resolve this in an effective team manner (marking the thread as solved is somewhat incorrect as yet it hasn't been). An update is the Gaskets arrived from the US today and the car has gone to Sportec, Switzerland. The mechanic has never done this before but is super competent but notes it is possible without the engine out but not sure how long. I will be changing the transmission mount as well to the 997 part as I would guess this is partly responsible as a cause in the first instance. Hopefully all done by Friday. Also plan to change the Tip Gearbox oil filter if possible.
  17. thank you finally for some realism, I'll let you know how I get on & in future would at least appreciate "not come across this before" from our experts as I think at 50 I know what my other basic options are
  18. & that's my point it would be much better if you guys were open and straight forward and came up with simply "unfortunately nothing else to add on this one" rather than "radio silence" or one of your options is "sell your car"
  19. I have manufactured gaskets, I am looking for technical information on fitting them without removing the engine
  20. But I guess its fair to conclude that by now, nobody knows anything else about the relevant technical details here ?
  21. & unfortunately today tests show today its leaking from both, so now it gets interesting
  22. What I am trying to establish is just how much more labor/complexity is involved in replacing the smaller gasket (2) as this is the one which usually leaks. My Mechanic is refusing to do this without taking the engine out vs replacing the larger Gasket gasket (1) which my mechanic is happy to do with the engine in situ
  23. sorry, Im not sure why the text has a line through but I need to make some decisions and appreciate any help
