  1. Ok...I got to the switch (the part that has the wiring that plugs into the harness). I'm left with this part in the pic. Does this part come out? If so...how do I go about getting it out?
  2. After messing with it a little...Removed the rod between the bellcrank and the shift selector switch. The linkage is fine and moves freely, as does the bellcrank. It's the shift selector switch that is bound up. I can move it, but with a good bit of force, but still, not like it should go. How do I fix such a thing? Can it be fixed?
  3. There's no data to interpret at this point...I don't think. Rather, I've replaced everything, but the transmission control module and it still does the same exact thing AND throws no codes hooked up to a PST2.
  4. Boxster has tiptronic transmission. Was hard to get in and out of gear the last few times. Finally, this piece broke. It was attached to the switch on the transmission... Fortunately, I found a donor piece and put it on (above pic). However, it is back to the way it was and I can't change gears. Its like the switch is bound up or something. Any clue what is wrong? I can't find anything wrong with the cable (that not saying much though lol). It did move freely when the piece from the first pic was removed though. Transmission switch bad?
  5. Sorry to revive such an ancient thread, but ive got the same problem. There were trans fault codes (solenoid maybe...cannot recall) and the P-Car mechanic decided the transmission was bad. I replaced the trans & TC with "used" ones. All new fluid and filter at proper levels and the EXACT same thing happens still! However, there are no longer any fault codes. Now, I suppose it could be that I bought a bad transmission and TC, but for the exact same problem to be occurring is a little odd to me. Anybody have this? Any ideas on what to do next? I'm definitely not buying another tip and swapping (that's for sure)!
  6. Sorry to revive such an old thread, but does anybody have any idea what is causing this. I've got the same issue, except i've actually already replaced the tiptronic transmission and torque converter. Any help would be much appreciated.
  7. I am currently in this same situation and wondering the same thing. I am currently having trouble lining up the bolt holes to bolt the flex plate back up to the torque converter and do not have the special (9596) tool. Is it necessary?
  8. I have this same issue currently as well. I read a thread that had a good DIY on taking the starter apart and using white lightening grease (I think) to fix the starter of a VW, but it seems it has disappeared. I don't know much about the insides of a starter. Does anybody have any kind of link or instructions (detailed preferably) on what to do w/the starter once removed?
  9. Exact same issue with mine earlier this week. Replaced the MAF and its back to normal.
  10. I agree they are. Don't know if you still need a mechanic in jax, but check out technical dimensions on beach blvd and talk to seth. He's the owner and a great guy that really knows what he's doing. Reasonable rates and MUCH MUCH better than brumos. I swear i'll drive to a different state before buying there!
  11. BUMP ^^^^ I would like to know more about this. Does it improve the sound? I don't even care about performance...although that would be cool to.
  12. I apologize. I have the clear headlights. I have an old pair w/the amber corners, but i just hate to put those back in :(
  13. I've seen singles go for under $150 before and you would be surprised home many on these boards don't consider online resources for used. I doubt you are going to find a way to fix that with a substance that will not melt or show. I see several on car-part.com right now for under $100, one in woodstock with a bad inner lens...you could swap the two. I'll all about cheap to but at some point you need to slap and old part on a Porsche before a tube of whacky glue! Are you talking about clears?? B/c I can't find any on car-part for under 350.
  14. Thanks, but i'd like to try do take care of this under 2-3 hundred dollars. That will however be my last resort if it comes down to that unfortunately.
  15. I have about a 2" crack across my headlight...don't know how it happened!!! :censored: Is there anything I can do to fix it. If not, does anybody know of a way to seal it and/or maybe conceal the fact that its cracked?? This sucks...oh...its a "clear" headlight to :( :(
  16. I got a couple P codes 0410 & 1411 (secondary air injection system). Before I go replacing things like the valves...How do I check for vacuum in the lines?
