  1. Hi I am still looking for answers regarding the rear speakers for my 2007 Boxster. First off I have the storage box that I think can hold the rear speaker kit that is offered for the 986 Boxster and Sunset has them on sale for $129. Second I know that that wont hook up to the 2007 stereo system directly but can they be wireing and plugs be changed to adapt to the 2007 Boxster system. There must be a way after all these are just speakers. Is there any one out there that is speaker and electronic savy and can help me add theses speakers without changing the whole Stero system. hope someone can assist. secuuda
  2. hi, I have a 2007 boxster with navagition and the software was from when the vehicle was manufactured in Nov. 2006. can I go right to the latest software update as of June 2008 or do I have to add the prior software updates that were between the 2006 and 2008.It seems from what I have heard from the dealership you have to update each new update from 2006. Is this true or not. hope there is some who has had this problem and can help me solve it. I would hate so see the cost of having to update 2 or three softwares at $300 a piece. secuuda
  3. Hi, I have look every where but I am unable to find a rear speaker kit for my 2007 Boxster, I know there are aftermarket ones for the 986 boxster that fit neatly into the storage box on each side and was hoping to do the same. I am not looking to run the sub in the midle of the storage box because that would eliminate the storage box. Does Any one know if the kit for the 986 will fit and connect to the 2007 sound system. I also have the pcm nav. I basically trying to add that fullness with speakers behind the seats without the big thump of a sub woofer. thanks Warren
  4. Hi People, Is there any one that has pictures or is there a video or some how to, in order to change the air filter on my 2007 Boxster. I have decided to put in a new BMC filter and would like to know the procedure on replacing the filter. Does the soft top have to be partialy open or what has to be removed. Secuuda
  5. Hi , Is there anyone out there than can give me a step by step on the removel of roll bar on a 2007 Boxster. I am looking at removing the roll in order to paint it the exterior color, as the car did not come with it painted. Would this be a very tough thing to do or farely strait forward and simple. I think it sets the car off perfectly and with all the options on this vehicle I have no Idea why the dealership did not add that option. would appreciate a helping hand mybe even pictures if possible on how to. regards secuuda

  8. The airbox in carbon fiber would be lighter than the original and it looks good when I am working on my Boxster. Over time a little by little I plan on changing a few things to lighten up the car. when you change the exhaust it lighten up as well, so everything I will put on thats carbon fiber aftermarket will help. they are always coming out with new products. Most of all I know you can't see it but I know its there. I also will add the hardtop from Zientop when it is available over the next year. I love the Cayman look but love my convertable so the best of two worlds. plus I cant afford both. secuuda
  9. Thanks for your help as I tried them as well and they don't have one for a boxster.
  10. Hi Everyone, does anyone no of a distributor or manufacturer of Carbon fiber products. I am interested in purchasing a carbon fiber air intake box for my 987 Boxster. I have looked all over the net without any luck ,hope someone has an idea where I can find such a product or knows of a company that will build one. secuuda
  11. Hi Guy's, Going to add Headers to my 987 Boxster. Looking for information on these two sport headers with cats only, no mufflers. Who has had experience with Fabspeed and who has had experience with Cargraphic headers For 987 Boxsters and Cayman models. I have read testimonies for both, but would like some input from real onwers and problems they might have occurred with these both products. Has anyone had any problems with cat cells moving up the exhaust or setting off the c.e.l. light. Both Sports Header with cats look pretty nice and well made but is there a difference between the two and if so is it a dramatic difference. Cargraphic seems to be a bit pricer than Fabspeed, is it realy better quality or not. When I look at the cats on the header they look very much the same. Hope to get some great feedback and first hand experience with these both products. So who has the best sports headers with cats. Big Thanks to everyone out there. secuuda
  12. Hay Berty987 After talking to a few of the product producers I am thinking on going with Cargraphic headers and cats but I do want to keep my original mufflers Also hoping Ithey come down in price. I did have the owner from cargraphic send me an email and gave me a price of $3100. for the sport headers with cats. I would like to see them arround $2200 to $2500 with Fabspeed they actauly show a price of $4400. on there site. Like you said I wan't do the ECU until I do the exhaust system. I am goingt to cut the tubing on the factury mufflers right at the cat intake and run the same size tubing 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 from the cargraphic headers if thats what I will go with ,which will increase air flow to the standard exhaust .if you look at the cat intake it actully is larger to run the smaller tubing, so as it is cut it will open to a larger diamiter tubing. I don.t think any one has tried this as yet. As I Have a lttle engineering under my belt I think this will give me what I want. I like the original sound of the boxster so I am not trying to change that at all and I am also wanting to have all for cats especially here in Canada. By the way I think I am going with the BMC F1 Filter, also less money than EVO whay less. that one down and I thing the ECU tuning is a given when I put on the headers. Berty987 Have you read much on Cargraphic headers. I was all set to purchase the Fabspeed as I have seen a few of ther videos and they advertise a fair amount in the Excellence magazine and read a few testimonies and also a few forums. well right know I am assured of two out of three things which I will do and when I get it all to gether I will let you know how it works. secuuda
  13. Thanks berty987 I appreciate what your are saying. I am looking at doing an ecu remap along with header with cats. I dont plan to desnorkle but I am going to change to the cayman vents and remove the restrictor plate. Have you had in experience with either BMC or V-fow filters. I think I am leaning towards the BMC as from what I have heard I don't have to do the ECU remap right away and the engine will run fine regardless if I do the upgrades. I am also looking at the Cargraphic headers with cats Vs the Fabspeed header with cats. these upgrade will come gradaully After inspection of both headers I am wondering if the cats with the 200 cell are the same supplier as they look pretty identical. with all the different products out there it is sometime hard to realy know who to go with, such a lot of big claims. again thanks and much appreciated secuuda
  14. Would like some feedback regarding these both filters for my 987 Boxster, which filter do you think would be a better filter to use. The BMC air filter or the EVO V-Flow. One is certainly more expensive than the outher and will it make a big difference. Now I have read some comments, that if you replace the original filter you have to have the ecu tuning as well. Is this true? also heard from one of the dealers and they say it will not effect the air to gas ratio and you don't need the tuning. is this true? I would like to know who is telling the truth and will there be any problems after long term use with either of these products. I read on one of the forums that if you change your filter and do nothing else it can damage your engine over long term use. Can anybody substantiate with documentation as to this fact or a good site were I can get this info. I know that Porsche makes good products for there vehicle ,but when it come to racing Farrari and Porsche seem to use theses products as I would think that they are of higher quility. Not trying to cause a debate just merely wanting the true facts. thanks everyone as I await your comments. secuuda
  15. Hi after reading your Question and reading answers from the other forum members I have to put in my two cents. I have also asked the same question and came up with the same answers. According to one of the members who is pro on not touch the vehicle, you should not do anything as the car from the factury is perfect. I realize the engineers that work on porsche are very good at there jobs but, does it not make sense that other engineers are as good or better in designing and making aftermarket products to improve your vehicle. Look at all the race cars and the products they use to get more power for there vehicles. Also Porsche dealers sell aftermarket products to improve the vehicles they are selling so all in all I have come up with that all thoses aftermarket product can not all be garbage. When you look at the whole picture you can't say porsche is perfect, because there would be no other cars to buy. I say you have to make your car your own. Thats just my two cents.
  16. Hi I haven't as yet, but after alot of extensive research and I plan on installing the Fabspeed headers with cats and mufflers. I was looking for more horse power a a better sound but not to intense.I also plan an using the EVO V-Flow intake to round it off. I am not sure if this would be wright for you but From what I have read and talk with other boxster owners this is the way for me. Hope that helps secuuda
  17. What I forgot to tell you as that I live in Vancover Canada and we sometimes get a little snow but for the most part it is rain in the winter. We sometimes go to Whistler ito ski and I plan on taking the boxster this year for a couple of trips. thanks everyone. Warren
  18. Hi guy's I have decided to change my tires on my 07 Boxster and looking for an all season high performance tire that will also do snow and a good comfortable ride probably to much to ask but I would have to figure some one out there may have some good advice and experience with some of the main brands. What I find is alot of the major brands claim alot but after looking over the reviews its hard to tell which tire is going to give you the hole package. Oh I forgot I would like a longer lasting tire as well most of the high end sports tire give very little mileage. So can anyone out there tell me which tire is the all round best sports tire. regards Warren What I forgot to tell you, as that I live in Vancover Canada and we sometimes get a little snow but for the most part it is rain in the winter. 19. Hi I am interested in updateing to a High Flow air intake, and see EVO has one but I find them a little expensive is there another company that carries a similar product or the same product at a discount or better price. they want 349. and to me that a little much for what you get.
  20. I decided to order mine from suncoast good price thanks everyone for the help
  21. thanks they look great sure make the car look perfect.
  22. I am very interested in puchasing the Cayman side vent kit for my 987 Boxster can anyone direct me to a site or a company that sells the entire kit frames and vents. much appreciated
  23. Hi everyone. Is there anyone who has extensively compared the different exhaust manufacturers that claim the HP with headers, cats, and mufflers recently. All the ones I have listened to on videos sound great, all make claims of large HP increase. Fabspeed claim 19 to 20 HP, so does Milltek sports along with tubi. B & B claim 25HP. also cargraphics. Out of all of these exhaust system which company realy give you the truth for your money. I am not interested in how pretty they look, as long as they do the job and there claims are real. I have read that B & B did not fair very well, in some cases they lost power or gave very little HP . Can any one verify this, and if some one out there has recent stats on these exhaust systems or other sites that might give me some answers that would be appreciated as I Have no experence with any of these companies. thanks secuuda
  24. Thanks mike for your input, one question how do you feel about the new sportdesign package that porsche is offering for the new boxster and aftermarket package for the boxster. Would you think doing the packge would hurt the sale of the boxster or not as it is an offered upgrade by porsche.in case I ever desided to sell my car. regards Warren
