  1. Thanks Loren. Is there a specific type of testing equipment I should ask for to pinpoint the problem, or is it going to take some time. Also how about the P1165 Engine compartment purge fan that gave me a "bad engine compartment blower fan" error. I opened the engine lid and the fan does not even turn on. I heard there was a recall on the 997 fan motor. Do you know anything about that? Thanks again
  2. Well after replacing all the O2 sensors and the MAF sensor i am continuing to receive the following errors on my 2006 997: P1108 Oxygen sensing adaption FRAU bank 2 lower load range P2180 Mixture adaption checksum error bank 2 P2192 Oxygen Sensor control adaption FRAO bank 1 upper load range P2178 Mixture adaption checksum error bank 1 P2194 Oxygen Sensor control adaption FRAO bank 1 upper load range and this brand new wonderful code: P1165 Engine compartment purge fan that gave me a "bad engine compartment blower fan" error Its scheduled to go into the shop next week but I would like to get some ideas on where to begin since it has been in the shop 3 times for the 5 first codes
  3. What were all the products (manfacturer and part number) you used for this project?
  4. I had the EVO SC installed on my TIP and works great. I had the install done by EVOMS in Tempe because a not so qualified installer screwed up the DME programming. In any case, it is a huge difference. Just make sure you have a EVOMS recommedned installer.
  5. Does anyone have directions on how to remove the tiptronic shifter knob?
  6. OK does anyone have the location and possibly pics of the MAF location in a 997S?
  7. Thanks Loren Ill have it looked at. The 2 gallons of 87 octane was an expensive screw up by my son, but I did not think it would cause any cel issues. Now I have 4 new O2 sensors. We will see hwat is next
  8. Ok, replaced all 02 sensors and drained the gas tank (done by the dealer and not an inexpesive proposition) . I also confirmed that it was not leaded gas, rather 2 gallons of 87 octaine unleaded that was added to the tank I drove for 120 miles no problems, but I just CELd again with the following: P2192 Oxygen sensor control adaption FRAO bank 1 upper load range P2194 Oxygen sensor control adaption FRAO bank 2 upper load range P2178 Mixture adaption checksum bank 1 P2180 Mixture adaption checksum bank 2 This time no P1108 Oxygen sensing adaption FRAU bank 2 lower load range. Cleared them with my Durametric, but any ideas what to look at next? My exhaust including cats are fine and Im sure the codes well be back in a couple of days Could this be a MAF sensor issue and can I replace or possibly clean the MAF myself? (If yes, where is iit located) I cannot feel any driving issues with the codes on, however I do seem to lose about 10% fuel efficiency
  9. I was all ready told no warranty by the dealer, but they have not given a price to me yet (they still have the car for other warranty non-mechanical issues). I'm just trying to figure oout how much they will cost and if I can put the in myself
  10. bad leaded gas (only 2 gallons from a can) but it threw codes immediately P2192 P2194 P2178 P2180 P1108 Cleared them, three times, but they came back each time
  11. Ok a bolt and probably a bracket of some kind. Are there any pics of the assembly? And .... how musch should I pay for the sensors Thanks
  12. How difficult is it to install new O2 sensors into my 2006 997S?. I it just unplugging and plugging in the new sensor?
