  1. Hi, your car looks nice, I have a 1997 and would like to change the door panels also, My questions are did you connect the airbags to actualy function, how much did you pay for the leather panel and how good was the fit. Thanks
  2. Took me 30 seconds to find this place  http://cgi.ebay.ca/6-PORSCHE-PREM-HIGH-PER...id=p3286.c0.m14
  3. I used red engine paint, clear, and decals from eBay, most important thing is to use a good degreaser and then brake cleaner, you spray 3 light coats of paint, put the decals, and 3 light coats of clear and you are done.
  4. I think it's to defrost the door mirror and you have a short in that box somewhere.
  5. There is a black junction box where the door hinges are, this box has male and female plugs in there, open it up and check to see if the pins are corroded. If they are corroded find a way to clean, fix or replace them. I would start with that.
  6. The inside of my head lights also look awful and I would want to know if there is a fix for this.
  7. Hi Placid I just finished a top cover install using instructions from Mike's site and also downloaded work shop manuals from this place. http://www.cannell.co.uk/Manuals.htm Look in PDF Group 6 Body Equipment, Exterior Good Luck :)
  8. Hi Guys, Thanks to this thread I solved my drivers side window not working. Culprit was the junction box electrical contacts in the door, same as above rusted and disconnected from female pins. Took me only 1 hour to fix the problem thanks to you great guys. Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks
  9. Hi, This guy called Franco on the 986forum.com found water coming in from the welds in the wheel well where the rocker panel is spot welded to the frame. Smart guy. :) http://986forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8274
  10. Did you know RennTech.org has a full option listing for most Porsche's? It is located here Hi Loren, The reason i gave another site was because Patrick mentioned "I did a search here on the forums but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for." Sorry
  11. Hi Patrick, Maybe you are mistaking P37 $867 $678 Traction Control with ABD (Active Brake Differential) for LSD. Just a thought, check out this site http://www.986faq.com/default.asp for all options available on the 986. My opinion if you are looking to buy a 1997-1999 Boxster, choose one with the least millage and minimum electronic gadgets and get it checked by a Professional that has worked on these cars and has an idea where to search for weaknesses. Just my honest 2 cents. Good luck.
  12. Hi Robert, Google "Leatherique" they have a kit for renewing steering wheels. I'm redyeing my seats as we speak, got one done and it looks awesome, i also got the steering kit and will be doing that this winter.
  13. I will be removing the old shiny cardboard textured dye using lacquer thinner and the re-dye will be done with Leatherique Products. I could have changed the color but decided to stay with the original, sent them a sample I cut out which they used to replicate the exact same color.
  14. Hi, I'm about to do a re-dye on my 1997 boxster, I was wondering if there would be enough interest from you guys for me to take lots of pictures and do a write up as to how I am doing this. Thanks Franco
  15. Hi Tool Pants, thanks for all the pictures and info :) Our cars must be Twins because I have not had a drop of oil on my garage floor either ;) , i did have to change the water pump,a very simple task. Thanks again
  16. Hi Tool Pants, Thanks for the info. I never heard of the intermediate shaft flange, do you have a picture. Thanks for your time :)
  17. Hi, Thanks for the info, a while back a Friend of mine with a 2003 boxster came over and we switched cars for a ride and we both agreed that the clutch in my car needed more effort to push down. At that time we thought it was because of the model year, he had 55000 miles on his car. :o I better start shopping for a new clutch  $$$$$$$$$$$ . Tool Pants do you think this is a DIY project and what else should i replace on a 60000 mile Boxster IYO :) and how much can this cost me ? Thanks
  18. Hi, the last couple of weeks I have been experiencing a strange clutch feeling when taking off on 1 gear when the car is cold, it's as if the clutch is sticking or hesitating to grab on, like a jogging or jerking feeling and then takes off as normal or something, but after 10 minutes into the drive this doesn't happen anymore when taking off again from stops. I don't know if I explained this precisely but has anybody experienced this and what is going on. 1997 Boxster with 60000 miles Thanks
  19. Have you checked the sway bar mounting bolts - that is the most common cause of sounds from the rear. The sway bar mounting bolts are nice and tight, now to verify if there is any loose in the long arm not that easy. :cursing:
  20. Hi Boxsterfahrer, Thanks for the DIY great idea, I'm wondering if there is a way to verify this arm before removing it, I'm getting the same noises as if something is dancing around in the trunk. Thanks to all Frank
