  1. I have a 2000 C4 and I follow the factory's recommendation on oil changes, which, I believe, is every 15k miles. Seems kind of long in between. This is my daily driver and I am wondering what others are doing in terms of oil changes and how often. After reading all of the posts about engine failure on the 996's I am a little worried and want mine to last longer, currently have 78k on it and no problems (knock on wood). Let me know how many miles you guys are doing changes.
  2. I have a 2000 C4 Cab with cross drilled rotors that I need to do rotors, pads and sensors for. I have heard that 996's have a potential problem for squealing and rattling. Also, I am looking for a brake pad that doesn't leave a lot of dust and absolutely NO squealing. My questions are: What type of pads and rotors do you recommend and where should I purchase them? Do you recommend anti squeal liners? Can any shop put them on or is there something technical about P brakes that they won't know? I live in San Diego if anyone has recommendations. Thank you for your help.
  3. Does anyone know how to adjust the striker on the doors? I have a 2000 C4 Cab and have adjusted them in the past but now it seems like they are out of alignment or something because you can hear the door kind of rattle a little when I hit bumps or uneven road.
  4. I have a 2000 C4 Cab with Tiptronic and I am selling my stock mufflers. I have a person interested, however, there is some concern over whether the exhaust is interchangeable. He has a 1999 C2 6-speed. The dealer is telling him my mufflers are only for a Tiptronic. Is this true or would it work on his C2 6-speed? Thanks for your help.
  5. I have mufflers off of my 2000 C4 cab. I can get the numbers if you want. It has maybe 30k on it. Call me at 858-964-8700 if you are interested. John.
  6. I just installed the ROW M030 suspension on my 2000 996 C4 Cab and it looks and feels great! However, this morning I was looking at the wheelwell gaps and the front left looked to have more of a gap. I took my tape measure and found that the other 3 wheels are about 25 7/8 inches, the front left however is 26 1/8. Is this normal or did something not go together right? Please help ASAP.
  7. Does anyone know of a good suspension shop in or near San Diego to install an M030 kit and has reasonable prices? Dieter's is good but want over $1400. Black Forest won't do unless I buy everything from them. Just looking for someone who is good and understands P-cars. I found a place in the L.A. area (Bagge and Son) that seem familiar with Porsches and can do it for around $600, I just didn't want to drive there if I didn't have to.
  8. Maybe someone can help me. I am looking at purchasing an ROW M030 suspension for my 996 C4 Cab w/ Tip. It looks like Suncoast has it for $1050 and Sunset has it for $975. My concern is from everything I have read it should lower the car 20mm in F, 10mm in R. I have seen this at both Carnewal and Suncoast's websites. When I spoke to Sunset, with the lower price, he was telling me 10mm is all it says in his book. I definitely want 20 and 10mm. Is this guy incorrect and/or should I just order from Suncoast and not worry about the minimal savings? Also, I have install quotes from $550-$1400 with alignment. Where are people coming in price wise with this? It appears there is mixed opinion on whether to corner balance or not. I don't track it, just like driving it hard on the streets.
