  1. Well after some digging through the forum and some other online resources I decided to give it a shot with the mic supplied with the IHF 1000 kit. It's a night and day difference. Speech recognition is now perfect and the system works great. Apparently the Motorola system doesn't like the factory mic. :( For the moment I have the mic mounted to the roof console just forward of the factory mic on the left side. (It doesn't look bad, it's just not as stealth as I'd like.) I am going to order a new trim piece and will experiment with cutting some small slits (similar to how the factory mic opening is) in it to allow mounting the mic inside the console so it is not really visible. If this works I'll post pics so others can see. Mike
  2. I just installed the Motorola IHF 1000 in my 05 Cayenne S and was able to find all the connections I needed from the cell phone prewire connector under the passenger seat. Since the IHF 1000 uses the same AMP connector plug as the Porsche prewire, I was even able to carefully remove the various wires from the factory plug and replace them into the appropriate slots in the connector that came on the Motorola wiring harness. (This actually made for a very clean install.) For the most part everything works fine, but I have a question on the microphone. I used the leads from the factory mic rather than the one that came with the kit and am not getting good voice recognition when speaking numbers to dial with the voice commands. (or when trying to speak numbers for adding to the contact list) The menus themselves seem to work fine as I can speak those commands and the unit recognizes them. Has anyone else used the factory mic with the IHF 1000? Should I use the mic supplied with the kit and if so, have others mounted it up on the roof console or somewhere else? Also, does anyone know if the factory installed mic is on the driver or passenger side of the overhead console. I looked and have mics in both locations so I'm thinking one is the phone mic and the other is the mic for the audiopilot stereo level control. Thanks for any help. Mike
  3. I have a 2005 Cayenne S which has the cell phone prewire option so I belive the loose connector under the passenger seat by the antenna wire is the cell phone connector. (I've attached a picture of the connctor and antenna wire) From what I can see there are the following wires going into the connector. (Red, Brown, Black w/green, Gray w/red, Gray w/white, Yellow w/black, Gray & Blue) I'm trying to verify that this is in fact the cell phone connector and what the various wires are for so I can use them to connect to a Parrot bluetooth kit. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike
