  1. Not bad, nice LCD fitment...I was expecting pimp my ride craziness...hehe. Is there a how to to follow?
  2. Thinking about boosting the output with Porsche parts (upgraded motronic, exhaust, airbox from 997) and not aftermarket. Anyone else do this? Cost? Can it be done? Is it worth it or aftermarket the way to go? Just curious...thanks for any input...
  3. I hate seeing those square holes in my front bumper. Going to be replaced soon, but I hate seeing them. Where can I get the plugs? I asked my local dealer and they knew nuttin'.
  4. Are you talking about the center tail light above the spoiler? If so use a small screw driver to gently pry the cover on the right side of 3rd brake light then use that screw driver to turn the twist lock 90 degrees. Once removed unplug the wire. Cool?
  5. There are always pros and cons to ProChargers (filter chargers), hopefully the Pros are greater. Any more input on this? I was also thinking of putting a ProCharger with the AEM dry filter. I believe the K&N filter does not have a CARB number so may be a pain to pass SMOG inspection.
  6. Thnx Loren...I love the odds and ends. There are similar threads but nothing specific, like more of a breakdown on needed items. Will search the net for kits. Recommend any kits? This looks interesting for 996 to 997 for $5K: http://www.jacquemond.com/english2.htm Apparently Hamann has a conversion too for 996 to 997. Can't find how to actually buy it!
  7. Hello, I have been toying with the idea to give my 01 an 02 facelift. What would I need besides the 02 headlights and front end? How involved is the upgrade? My current front end has a slight ding which will require new front bumper and I figure spending a little more for a different front end all together. Perhaps with GT3 front end. *I do have Halogen headlights Thanks for any feedback :clapping:
  8. Hmmm...perhaps they are in series? So removing one light will cause other lights to not get power. I was also thinking about upgrading to Blue LED backlight. I am assuming you have to have a pair of dash hooks, I can never find the tools I need!!!
  9. hmmm...hopefully the adhesive wont be a pain. Take your time and don't rush...rush = damage. How much $$$ are you willing to sell covers for? PM if you like.
  10. Interesting mod. I guess it is the older person assist that Porsche wanted to implement. Will def give it a try and see what happens. Does not appear to weaken the overall pedal structure.
  11. Hmmm...as long as the coolant meets Porsche recommendations then it should be OK. If not then it a pain to purge and refill but a def must do. You should find out who added that anti-freeze and know what is in your car.
  12. It ended up being a stupid baffle in the muffler, so will get it replaced. Thanks for replies...
  13. So true bro. Even Porsche techs don't always follow the specific ft/lb guidelines and just wrench away! Happens all too often. This is a good example for the rest of us...follow directions! Hope your baby gets back to 100% soon
  14. EXACTLY! You will be amazed what the Ignition Switch issues can cause. Everything from Radio to headlights, even rear spoiler probs are caused by faulty ignition switch (911s).
  15. Not sure where you heard that. I have seen several Boxsters with 19" wheels. Perhaps an issue with the offset of the wheels or having them balanced properly. Consult the dealership before you make a purchase you may regret. Personally I would stick with 18" since you can have tires with wider side walls to cushion those MN roads.
  16. 2001 C4 with 26K on the clock. So far only issue is a rattling from the rear (perhaps exhaust/CAT) and the key starter going bad. To be replaced soon.
  17. I decided to start upgrading the look of my 996 C4. I want to get the C4S/TT rear bumper and C4S front fascia. Does anyone know good sites to look at? The dealer wants about $2K for rear bumper and inserts. I have found a few online already and it would be good to know who NOT to buy from as well.
  18. Thanks friends! I punched the mufflers a few times with no noise and I tightened every bolt I could find with regards to mufflers. I am taking it in for the 30K service so I hope they can find it at the Porsche dealer. It does not sound like a heat shield since this is a sharp metallic rattle sound (heatshields would be more of a dull rattle) and still could be a baffle...this is very baffling!!! I made a funny! Anyways I will let you know what the dealership finds out for those of you that may have a similar issue!
  19. Anyone else hear a metallic rattle when driving their 996? This is my first Porsche (2001 C4) and it runs gr8, just has that metallic rattling from somewhere on the driver's side when accelerating. I removed the rear bumper and checked all of the heat shields and nothing appears to be loose. Any ideas party people??? Much appreciated! :lightbulb:
