  4. Hi, I've got a thread relating to engine problems see http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...t=0&start=0 The thread shows a complete history of the situation. As a brief summary of my actions, I took a series of photos of my problem engine the main complaint about which is a defective crank cradle identified when the engine was disassembled by the independent I use. Because I use the car for business I had to buy an exchange engine as I had to limit the amount of time the car was off the road. It was still off the road from November 11th 2006 to the middle of February this year anyway. I have complained to Porsche GB Customer Assistance under the terms of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 within English Law and after a series of e-mails and letters they advised me to get an independent report done on the defects. This was done by The RAC (Royal Automobile Club) a motoring organisation in the UK. I subsequently got a specialist metallurgy company to report on the evidence as well as recommended by The RAC and submitted this to Porsche GB. Both reports said the component in question had manufacture-related defects, was sub-standard and should not have been fitted in the engine in the first place as it was not fit for purpose. The latest letter I received last Friday from Porsche GB still refused my claim so I have obtained the direct e-mail address of Dr. Wendelin Wiedeking, President and CEO of Porsche AG and have e-mailed him today with the details of the defects and have requested his assistance in resolving the situation. I'll keep my thread updated with the next events. Rgds John Any update on this yet?
  5. Thanks Loren, are those numbers for the levers only or complete panel?
  6. Hi guys, Does anyone have a part number for this item but for a right hand drive version?
  7. I have since found out that this is available only in black or grey. I have a metropole blue interior and will use a black I guess.
  8. I can't be of much help other than to say that Autofarm have a very good reputation here in the UK and I read a good write up in one of our Porsche magazine about the 3.4 engine solution. The guy who developed it is a very well respected engineer who has worked for several top motor racing teams. Good luck Barry
  9. Hi Guys, I've just ordered the smoker delete kit and have done a search of how to install but can only find a bit about the lighter. It's the tray I'm interested in. It does look simply like 2 screws under the rubber 'mat', but what about the window switches, how do they fit back in and how do I get them out? Thanks, Barry
  10. Pardon my ignorance but is the RMS issue linked with blown engines or are these 2 seperate issues? I only ask because I had my RMS replaced last week 61k.
  11. Cheers, Barry Hello. When was the fuel filter last changed? It had a major service 2 weeks ago but I don't know if they change the filter then.
  12. My '99 996 has just started playing up. Here's the symptom: Loss of revs for between 3-5 secs in any gear then kicks back in No warning lights on Engine sounds normal Oil pressure normal This seems like intermitant fuel starvation. Coincidentaly I have just filled with BP standard unleaded 95 Ron but usually use Shell V Power stuff. Any ideas? Cheers, Barry
  13. I have a '99 C2 with sports seats and find the driving position a little too snug as my knees touch the bottom of the steering wheel. I'm 6'4". I have the seat on it's lowest setting and the wheel as close to me as it will adjust. I have been told my several people that the seat runners can be lowered and that this was a factory option when new. Anybody know how to do this or any solutions for taller drivers? Thanks
