    That is what I thought, but normally it drives smooth, great response and smooth shifting. Not sure what to make out of it. Oil level (trans)?

    Hey everyone, I have a 2000 996, C2 (Tip). Yesterday on my way home from work while I was merging onto traffic I decided to give the beast some gas (pretty much full throttle) and the when she decided to downshift from 5th gear it hesititated for a split second, harsh load noise and then vooooom she took off. Is that normal for the downshift to be that hard? Thanks!

    Thanks Frenchy! I basically notice it after being in traffic for about 45mins. I am not familiar w/e-gas? I will try and do a search.

    At a complete stop (red light) I notice that the idle sputters slightly, almost to the point it is not noticed, but if you pay attention you can notice it. I can see the needle move slightly. I was wondering if this is normal?

    Hey guys, does it really make a difference where you mount your radar detector? I was told the lower the position of the radar the better signal for laser, for example.

    Just curious when everyone one fills up there P-cars w/gas, what does the miles to empty read? When I purchased mine a few months ago it used to say somewhere over 400 miles now I am in the high 300's? I don't understand? Thanks!

    I am need to buy some leather cleaner & conditioner for my seats. I just bought the car a few mths ago and noticed my driver seat has a slight crack on one side.

    I just checked my rears on the 17in rims and they were at 41psi. I reduced it to 38-39psi.

    Thats funny because I beleive the tire shop set my rears at above 40, like 42psi. I will double check them today. Thanks!

    Thanks everyone. I have new tires. I drive my baby everyday. I will double check the tire pressures though. TD, MI roads totally suck as well.

    Loren, Thanks for the education on the 3rd radiator. I was wondering my temp runs in the range that it does with 3 radiators. my996, hey what do you have your tire pressures set at? I have 17inch tires? Just curious!

    I wonder why my ride seems harsh, maybe I am not used to a true sports car. I also have an Audi A4, but big notice in the ride.

    Good Morning! Hey everyone I am curious about the type of ride comfort everyone gets while driving there 996. Let me first tell you that the 996 I currently have is my first and only one ever driven. Here in MI the roads are very horrible and bumpy, so I find the ride to be very harsh and rough. (MY996 may be able to vouch for this?) I was wondering is this how all 996's feel or do I need to replace my suspension with something better than stock? Thanks!
