    Hey Loren, I notice in the pic that there are three radiators? Is that only for Tiptronic? I believe someone in the forum said that. Also, I was quite surprised that there isn't some kind of protection from debris or rocks for the three radiators? Thanks!

    Thanks guys! I will keep you updated on the oil change. I plan on doing it in a week or two. When I called the local dealer about the wrench, the person in the parts dept, said there is no special wrench to remove the filter? Either way, I will order one, online.

    Tool Pants thanks for the pic. Is that your Boxster? or 996? I am going to have to double check to find the oil filter. I only took a quick glance the other day and I don't remember being able to see the filter like that. I do remember seeing the plug (drain).

    Does anybody have a clear pic of the drain. When I look underneath the car, I see a drain plug in plain view, but not sure?

    LVDell, Hey I just called Sunset and they gave me different prices: Filter - $11.18 Filter wrench - $17.45 Drain plug gasket - $.15 Wonder why different prices?

    I am feeling the same way. I plan on doing it my self. How long did it take to change the oil? Is the filter hidden by anything? Where did you get the oil from?

    I called my local dealer to inquire about oil change and they said $250! Wow, I said what happen about the price you gave me 3 wks ago? They said it was a special. Can't believe it!

    As for the radio code, I believe you need the dealer to retrieve that for you.

    A friend of mine has been taking his 996 to a local shop for oil changes. So out of curiousity I called the guy and he told me that if I bring my own oil, he will change it for $35. What confused me is he said it is fairly simple, but there are two drain areas? Is that true. He has been in business for over 25yrs. What do you think? Try :) it? Also, are there any codes that need to be reset after an oil, air filter change? Thanks!
