  2. Thanks, that looks like it is it - a local transmission expert helped determine it. Now I have to drive it over to the dealer for the quote, has anyone had it done - how much did it cost you? It sounds pretty common because the service guy said he has plenty of valve bodies in stock and moves them. No extended and it sure sucks that a 35k premium automobile should need one... Any news on this? I also have the dreaded bang when shifting.. they want me to replace the valve body. However, there is no way to determine if its the valve body or a bad transmission. So I have to shell out around $2,000 to replace a possible valve body, and if that doesn't fix it then have to shell out another $6-8K on a tranny. WTF is up w/ a car retailing over $100K and needing this to be replaced. I have a '04 Cayenne Turbo.
