My neighbor and I installed the iWire in about 30 minutes...the directions that came with it are simple and easy to follow. The side console panels just unclip and access was easy with the radio removal tools they provide. I opted to drill a small hole in the back of that small receptacle compartment under the radio...for those of you who haven't changed the configuration of your stereo setups...and the iPod plug can be tucked away under there by simple pushing the wire back into the hole in back. I set the stereo to "AUX" and like stated above, you control the navigation thru the iPod from the iPod itself. Great and simple setup for pre-MOST cars.
you cannot navigate on the ipod from the radio ?!

Motor mounts could contribute to the "shock" feel, but if it is minimal, then I wouldn't worry about that.
You're going to have to go back to Cargraphic to get matching cats. I don't see you getting something that will work from another vendor. I've had 5 different systems on my car and none of them were the same in shape/size.
Mike
cargraphic ask me 2000euro for 2 cats sooo that is impossible ! with 2000euro i can buy from US a full exhaust system and still maybe for a ecu.
if i will run without cats i can damage something to the car ?!

the screw from the heat shield is broke

thanks for clearing that up. a bit more expensive than the 50 dollar wire!
even though the question has already been answered my response might be useful for people searching in the future, i used this cable with my 2001 porsche which had a cdr220 and it worked very well, it charges the ipod which many cables do not, you have to control song choice etc via the ipod, the cdr200 controls do not control the ipod (which is the case with all ipod cables and the cdr units) for the oney its an exfdelletb alternative to replacing the head unit (which i eventually did in order to get nav and various other features)
good info, thanks !

A little shock is normal, when you put the Tip from N to D, while the car is still in motion
Hi RFM, i didn't say that the car was in motion when i put it bag in D, the car is stationary. And this type of shock is only happening when i put it in N while in motion ( i don't see why i should stay to a red light 2 min with the foot on the brake ) and when I am at the stop i put it back in D
Typically the shock felt is usually a result of a worn out transmission mount. The insulating rubber between the two pieces rips from hard driving. It is an easy fix.
the transmission mount of the gearbox is new. maybe i didn't push very well the break pedal, thanks !

Seriously?
1 - try sitting in the other seat and you will find out of only the right one is shaking.
2 - it is rare to need replacement pulleys.
3 - a thief, junkyard, or dealer (in increasing order of cost).
4 - impossible to tell. probably pretty tough to tell even if you posted a video. likely, difficult even in person.
5 - why would you put an automatic in neutral at a red light other than to rev the engine?
where did you read that i rev my engine at the stop ?!?!? ( nr 5 question )
and thank you, you are so kind !

1- I would like to know if only my right seat is shaking at idle
2- where could i find a good place to buy the belt and all the pulleys also i need the supporting mounts from the front suspension
3- I took a cargraphic exhaust but it doesn't have the cats, where can i buy some cats from ?
4- I have an metal noise behind the back wheels, does any body has this kind of noise? could it be from the heat shield of the exhaust or from the turbos ?!
5- some times when i catch a red light, while in motion i put it in N ( tip ) and when i put in D i get a little shock in the transmission, is this normal ?!
thank you !

Thanks Timf but i found a pair of AP dv's at 100$.
Are the AP dv's good ?
Thank you !
-
It is a very good modification because the original diverter valves( Bosch), according to some people on Renntech and 6speed , are known to fail. Good move! I got a completely stock car and did exactly the same mod but of course it was more expensive for me . A little bit of a pain to install.... I have replaced the F hose at the same time...
so is ok if i am buying them and it doesn't matter too much if they are second hand ?!
thank you for the prompt answer ! :)
-
if i am running stock boost is ok if i am putting some dv's ? i have the possibility to buy a pair of AP dv's with 100$ is this ok ? Thanks !
ps. is not good to buy them second hand ?!

the mechanics said that they are not changing the oil from the turbos because the reservoir is from aluminum and the screw plug can destroy the oil reservoir when they are trying to opening it
-
thank you !
-
I made until know six oil services and they never changed the oil from the turbos is this normal or should i be worried about that ?! thanks !
-
Swapping from K16 to K24 is a direct bolt-on, so you don't need to change anything !
Headers are exactly the same and intercoolers and exhaust will be fine at least for 1.0-1.1 bar boost.
yes this is true ! thanks anyway ! :)
-
Hello all, i would like to do change my stock turbos ( k16 ) with the K24 ones and i was wondering if i need to change the headers, exhaust or the intercoolers ?
thanks !
-
from my last service ( one year ago ) i only did about 4000miles, should i do the service again after a year ? thanks
-
put it in D but pres - to run in first gear, from what i know there is no difference between D or M.
-
now it seems that the rpm its fluctuating and when I put it from P to R or D the rpm is going down, almost the engine stops !
-
the problem occur before I've installed the k&n filter. it has happened 2-3 times in 2 years is not an every day problem !
-
please post MY, model any mods and last service. Get the codes read first off.
no codes, stock ( only an K&N filter ), '02
Tuning Opinion

So, this week I will make my first steps in the tuning world of 996tt, I will install a Cargraphic exhaust without cats and ecu modification from SKN tuning Germany.
Their tuning programs are looks like this :
stage 1 : + 36 kW (49)PS / + 141 Nm
stage 2 : + 73 kW (99)PS / + 230 Nm, but I didn't ask them what includes stage 2.
What do you think guys about their stages, i really care about your opinion, because on this board are some of the best tuners and Porsche enthusiasts
p.s. I already bought the gaskets for the exhaust to be sure that everything will be ok and in two weeks the dv's will arrive, what else should I look for ?
Thank you very much, any comments will be appreciated !
