Here are pictures. And another. Note you can see two velcro tabs the tech used to secure the panel. They are only visible because of the flash and cannot be seen from inside the car. The install was done about 8 months ago with no problems to date.

I'll take some pictures this evening and post. If you can give me a link to a steering wheel kit that would be great. I've seen some referenced in forums, but when I have called the manufacturer or distributor it was a no go.

I had a Kenwood DNX7100 Nav unit installed in my 2005 Cayenne by Car Toys in Dallas Texas. This is a double din unit like the pioneer. There was no dash kit available, so they simply cut a piece of flat ABS to fit the dash opening and the unit. Looks like a factory install. The Amp was bypassed and the unit spliced directly to the speakers and sounds fine. The only issue was that there is no interface available for the steering wheel controls so they are disabled. Both Nav and audio function great.
